Orienteering race (Scottish Relays) 53:22 [4] **** 5.9 km (9:03 / km) +225m 7:36 / km
ahr:170 max:178 slept:6.0

Scottish Relay Champs at Strathmashie. 1st leg in Handicap 9+ team with Paul T and Alastair. Felt pretty rotten, mostly just incredibly tired!
After a rush to get there, we had to wait a really long time for the start, which was along the most rotten run-out ever (tussocky grass, nettles and bog!). I spooned the first control, lost 1min and the fast pack. Although nav was pretty accurate after that I never really recovered, so was a bit disapponted. Paul T and Alastair were superstars so we finished 2nd in class, but if I had been on top form we could have challenged for the win :-(

Orienteering race (Scottish Individuals) 1:16:27 [4] **** 8.7 km (8:47 / km) +435m 7:02 / km
ahr:167 max:179 slept:9.0

Scottish Individaul Champs, Balavil & Dunachtonmore (better known as Craigbui).
We had changed our starts so was first starter on W21E course. Good start through juniper, found I was able to run pretty hard through it when everyone else seemed to be struggling (well Pooley was anyway!). Made a couple of small mistakes in the white at the west end of the map, but loved the terrain! Pushed hard to the end, but lost time through the green near the end, which lost me the win.
Finished 2nd to Claire Ward by 53s, with Hollie hot on my heels, 3 of us well clear of the rest of the field. Happy with the run and the result.
