orienteering (Jamestown Sprint) 26:00 [3] 3.6 km (7:13 / km)

After a day of rogaine-setting in the Deceptive Lands (plenty of evidence of last week's flooding - in some places Wonna Creek would have been 50m wide; its catchment basically runs from all the way back up near Hallett) G & I had intended to camp while the others were always going to head home. But it was hot and we were tired, and a shower seemed a good idea, and cabins in Jamestown are always cheap, and I'd just happened to bring the Easter 2015 sprint map, which has held up pretty well...jogged around pretty casually, getting a bit confused on the contentious 'clearing' in the young pines by the silos, and of course I took the tiny suspension bridge across Belalie Creek. This creek is always full of water in town and in fact I believe there are permanent springs upstream but sadly they're on private land and so I've never been to find them. But I did see a tortoise! The section in the school was fun, too, although somehow lacked the orienteering carnival atmosphere this time. On our way back from the pub after dinner we checked out the real estate office's window display and found that you can still get house-and-land in Jamestown or Peterborough for under $100K.
