running 46:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 22

Sunset run up Hillrise, tunnel X-over MTB track, down through Linton quarries. Tired today (G got home after 1am from erecting lightpoles in the city) but pushed hard uphill and just managed this without a headlamp although my way back down through the cemetery was lit by tiny little 'candles' glowing on the headstones.

running (North Adelaide) 37:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 22

Torrens weir-zoo footbridge river loop with Ben & Toby. Their casual-jog pace is a bit faster than mine, so this was more of a tempo run for me :)

running 35:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 21

Legs weren't keen to work tonight - knees fine after yesterday but butt muscles rather less so from bracing in order to save my knees - but I eventually convinced them to do so after lots of stretching stops. Surprised to see how many '50s fibro houses in St Marys and Pasadena have recently been knocked down in anticipation of building 2 dwellings on the one block.

running (Morialta) 1:16:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 2000-4

Walked up Mt Lofty & back in the fog this morning with a friend - at fairly leisurely pace because someone (not me) was feeling the effects of a big night out, so coffee at the top was highly relevant - and afterwards the sun came out, my knees hadn't stiffened up yet, and I thought I'd go see how the waterfalls on Fourth Creek at Morialta compared to those on First Creek at Watefall Gully. Legs were pretty tired and I didn't hurry, especially not on the slippery downhills. It beat spending the afternoon doing housework though :)

riding (Brownhill Creek) 1:10:00 [3] 19.5 km (3:35 / km)

Pootled along the flowing creek on a misty morning, before Wallaringa breakfast @Hahndorf - at which I reminded Tyson that 10 years ago we were all in Dubbo watching JWOC, at which it was the Arrows' responsibility to erect the commentary tower (and under his & Susanne's supervision, we were way more efficient/cohesive at this than the team putting up the giant results board were). One of the reasons I enjoy watching WOC these days is that the names at the top now are those who were top juniors then, e.g. Lundanes. Don't know why I can't find the JWOC 2007 relay results anywhere online though?

Needed some fresh air after an afternoon at Matilda The Musical with parents (mum's shout) - a great production, but rather loud and rather expensive. Also, it would seem that mum & dad & G & I are all rather deaf, because we couldn't catch half the words.

Note

Where do I sign up for the Estonian boys' fan club? So proud of Timo's team for coming 4th in the WOC relay! He's an honorary Arrow, don't you know...

Note

A colleague asked me what rogaining is, because she'd been invited by a friend to the Jupiter Creek 6 hour next month. Our conversation went something like this...
Me: It's really cool, you get given a map, and it's got all these controls on it, and they're all worth different points, and your team has some time to plan which of these points you want to go to within the time limit available to you. Oh, and there's great catering at the end!
Her: But how do you know where to go?
Me: You read the map
Her: But how do you know where you're going?
Me: Look, these are the roads, and the creeks, and the hills, they're all on the map
Her (looking crestfallen) Maybe I'll just walk along at the back and let the others navigate
Me: ???

This epitomises the difficulty I've had in getting any of my colleagues to ever come orienteering :( I seriously think she was anticipating that there would be some sort of GPS-like device to tell her where to go!
