Note

I'm having a lot of trouble finding a hash house venue for the twilight rogaine on March 17th because every single primary school in the southern suburbs is going to be a polling booth on state election day :(

Reasons for living in Adelaide:
1) Belair National Park
2) I need a second reason?

Heffalumped over to Mitcham & back before 2018 nationals meeting, feeling very stiff & tired. Starting to think these new shoes are part of the problem. Also the dog had a very unsettled night because of the thunderstorm and therefore so did we - he peed ALL over the kitchen floor (we did not) and I had to get up early enough to wash it thoroughly.

Slowly up to Deep View, around into 3rd Falls, up to Norton Summit Rd and down the inside park rim from Pretty Corner on an evening when thunder kept threatening but didn't come closer. Lovely bushland smells after rain and lots of birds about, including 4 yellow-tailed cockies sitting in the scrub near the track, one of them balanced on top of a xanthorrhoea spear.

Completely wrecked after another long day at the workshop, so I attempted a nap which didn't work because my brain was still buzzing, then I thought a run might clear my head. Started out via Chandler Highway bridge across the Yarra with the hope of getting along the river past the bats as far as Studley Park suspension bridge, but knees said No Way and so pipe-bridge again it was. I really enjoyed the (unfortunately only 5 min of) singletrack along the river though, and the company wasn't bad either :)

Am a bit worried about how working at FMC is likely to sap my brain-power...

After a long but interesting day at the workshop in the city, parked @Fairfield boathouse & went for a plod up Merri Creek as far as St Georges Rd, then down the creek to Dights Falls - checked out Quarries Park playground after Jayne mentioned it last week - and finished off by crossing the pipe bridge (& back again) in case I don't get around to doing this tomorrow. Knees in particular didn't enjoy the running part, but I got to run my favourite "European" section of Merri Creek twice plus see some lovely houses with springtime gardens.

Note

Preoccupied with preparing my presentation for a cancer pharmacists' workshop in Melbourne tomorrow. Got up early to give G his birthday presents since he was leaving for work @6am.
