running (Shepherds Hill) 41:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 2000-4

Plod up the valley, along the trainline, back down the ridge on a warm evening. Legs were empty because Qantas doesn't give you proper dinner on late-night flights, only cheese & crackers (G generously donated his to me). Birds were vocally happy at first then they quietened down - in anticipation of rain?

running 59:00 [3]

After an unpleasant night in the dodgy motel where the airconditioner kept turning itself off every hour and I kept waking up when the atmosphere got so hot that I had to turn it back on, left G to the present-wrapping and headed out along the Nepean river for a bridge to bridge loop then down past the weir to the wetlands where I've never been before - decent birdlife and a sighting of the rare Australian Floating Mattress.

Once all the family stuff was over, we still had enough time to head to Cronulla and catch the little old 1939 ferry to/from Bundeena, which I've always wanted to do. Found a gelateria where the chilli chocolate ice cream was so hot that I had tears in my eyes and the Iced VoVo flavour was just amazing :)

orienteering (Sydney Uni) 22:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 23

Ran around an old sprint course from a few years ago, dodging the potential uni students who were there for open day, and thankful for the drink fountains dotted around, because it was already a warm day although not as warm as in Penrith when we finally got there after finishing off our Christmas shopping...

running warm up/down 18:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 23

Sweaty jog to/from where we'd parked in Glebe. Took a shortcut through the graffiti tunnel :)

orienteering (Oakden SS) 46:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 23

Left work later than I'd have liked but it didn't take me as long to get across town as I'd feared. Decided to get all 20 controls on the scatter, which was much less linear than last week (thanks to the more convoluted street network) and kept me thinking until the end.

riding (Brownhill Creek) 1:10:00 [3] 19.5 km (3:35 / km)

Real Cyclists were out in force in advance of the hot day, making me and my velocipede feel decidedly inferior. One (who I considered to be a tosser) spoke out as he came silently up behind - and startled me so that I swerved, then he proceeded to tell me to "stay in your line, and watch out for other cyclists behind you". Um...not sure how I'm meant to do that without rear-vision mirrors! I secretly wished the CPM would swoop upon him, but it's no longer spring any more, as evidenced by the guy standing in a Santa suit waving at passers-by.

running (Morialta) 43:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 2000-4

Just a short one because:
a) it was hotter than I'd have liked;
b) I needed to get to OSA council meeting (which dragged on despite the number of people who weren't there).
Dunno why my legs felt so weak and wobbly?
