orienteering race (Adelaide Uni SSS) 28:46 [4] 2.8 km (10:16 / km)
shoes: Asics Kayano 23

First of the Snap Sprint Series, courses courtesy of Simon. Went for a run around the long after helping on the start (Twilight series numbers haven't been as good this season but then I suspect they were inflated by the free summer memberships last year?) and felt that I mostly got the route choices right. Kept expecting my knees to hurt on all the stairs but they never did :)

Thursday Feb 1 #

6 PM

running (Belair) 36:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 22

Casual conversational jog with Zara/Callum, cut short because she was a bit under the weather and I had to go to nationals meeting - and also because we spent too long eating blackberries at Karka!

Wednesday Jan 31 #

6 PM

orienteering 36:00 [4]
shoes: Asics Kayano 23

Manu made a map of the Adelaide Showgrounds! And it was lots of fun, especially the small alleyways between all the animal barns. Would have been even more fun if it was showtime but then we wouldn't have been able to move for people. (In other news, I definitely need to get faster/fitter before MSW.)

Tuesday Jan 30 #

6 PM

running intervals (Morialta) 6:00 [5]
shoes: Asics 2000-4

We runned up hills: 6 x 1 min hard. These shoes are not good at pushing off and neither is their occupant! (Think I need to work out what is the proper stair-walking technique at work.)

running (Morialta) 52:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 2000-4

Nice evening for it. Apparently the optimal hill-training method is to not run up any, for a month in Denmark?

Monday Jan 29 #

7 PM

running (Belair triangle) 1:09:00 [3] 11.4 km (6:03 / km) +270m 5:25 / km
shoes: Asics Kayano 23

Up Randells, down Gloucester. It wasn't hot & humid like this morning, it was blustery and raining - nice :)

Sunday Jan 28 #

8 AM

running 34:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 23

Scheyville national park is about 10km away from Windsor and has what promised to be a nice walking trail around Longneck Lagoon, so I thought I'd go for a run while Geoff admired the birdlife from the boardwalk - but when we got there it all seemed a bit derelict/spooky and I was kind of glad that he was nearby to know if I didn't come back...

After taking full advantage of the buffet breakfast at the hotel we headed for Penrith for further family activities in the context of mother-in-law's 70th.
