running 1:07:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 23

The full length of Red Hill ridgeline, loop from Karina's (which is as far south as one can get and still be in Narrabundah), in pretty much the same time as when I last did this 4 years ago, so I guess that's not a bad thing? It was a glorious morning and my heart was gladdened by the sighting of a wattle tree full of gang gang cockatoos, but sadly this feeling couldn't withstand an entire day of OA conference...

riding 40:00 [3]

Around Mitcham to loosen my knees up enough so that I could stretch properly before packing for Canberra. Annoyed that online check-in doesn't seem to be available for my flight?

swimming 34:00 [3] 1.0 km (34:00 / km)

No Belair run because tonight's the post-nationals social gathering at the German club (food was about as unimaginatively Germanic as I had anticipated and I conveniently donated both my Sauerkraut and Rotkohl to Zara - but the company was good).

orienteering (Heywood Park) 17:44 [4]
shoes: Asics Nimbus 19

Fun sprint relay training, set by Bridget. There were heaps of controls out there, really close to each other, and I can't swear that I went correctly to every single one on each of the 4 legs because I got a bit confused between the mini-maps, but if there had been control codes I'd definitely have been checking them.

running warm up/down 37:00 [3]

Figured I should be able to get from home to Heywood Park in under 20 min, not counting stops for traffic lights. By the return trip I was really hungry so it's a good thing that my hunter-gatherer spouse had procured steak for dinner (at my request).

Finally feeling NTB, and even had the energy for some doublings-back for Lucy, who made it all the way into 3rd Falls. Helped that it was a cool evening and the ground softer after rain.

Afterwards managed to book return flights to SF next June for G & myself for the grand total of $2300 :) Guessing we'll probably end up spending more than that on 2 weeks' worth of accommodation though!

orienteering (Colonel Light Gardens) 53:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 23

Came across (when I was tidying up for WA AGM) the Twilight Series courses which Meredith and I set 4 years ago, so thought I'd go for a run around CLG while the jacarandas are still in bloom. Decided to do all 20 controls, and even though I know the suburb fairly well, still found that I was re-thinking both macro and micro route choices right up until the end because of all the back laneways. We could even use this area for sprint training, especially since there is a more detailed map of the school and Mortlock Park.

running (Bridgewater) 1:22:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 23

Bridgie--> Aldgate --> Woorabinda --> Stirling --> Old Mt Barker Rd --> Cox Creek. Would have been a lovely run except that my legs & back were absolutely wooden from so much gardening/housework yesterday and couldn't go up hills at all. (I commonly feel terrible on Sunday morning runs and usually think then that I am really not fit enough to be part of this group.) Stirling markets afterwards was nice though once I finally found somewhere to park - guess I wasn't the only one starting on Christmas shopping!
