swimming 34:00 [3] 1.0 km (34:00 / km)

After AOTKM, where the massage therapist proceeded to tell me about all the ghosts she & her partner had encountered/experienced in the various houses they've lived in (think I would have preferred the hairdresser's D-list celebrity anecdotes).

Had intended to take parents orienteering @O'Halloran Hill this afternoon but I detoured via Eblen Subaru on the way to their place...3 hours* and one new XV later, we ended up so late that we were collecting controls as we walked around the easy course!

*because the dealership took forever to assess my current car for its trade-in value, then offered me a whole $1000, which is why I had intended to sell it myself - and therefore I didn't accept their generous offer. (Does anyone in the Junior Arrows want to buy a 2003 Impreza for about $2500?)

Finally got around to actually test-driving the shiny new car, after which they proceeded to attempt to sell me window tinting, paint protection ("we would have offered you more for your old car if it had been paint-protected from the birds which have shat on it over the last 15 years") and leather protection. Yeah, I hadn't especially wanted leather seats or keyless entry - or a black car - but seems I've got them anyway. And I believe the spare to be, while closer to full size than in previous models, still only a temporary one. Don't know whether a real one fits in the wheel well but I am going to find out.

running (Belair night) 34:48 [3]
shoes: Asics Nimbus 19

Chilly - but surprisingly not wet at that time - run with Zara. Was nice to get some fresh air after musing for much of the day upon the extreme unfairness of life as experienced by some people (as encountered in my line of work).

running 52:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 24

Up the hill from FMC to Bellevue Heights, across into Eden Hills where I decided to check the waterfalls on the side valley in Sheps. Trickling, just, after this last week's rain - but there's more to come (I had seriously thought it may never rain again) and the green grass is sprouting. Reckon we'll get wet feet on the Seven Crossings Of Magpie Gully this Sun. 17km's going to seem a long way...

running tempo (North Adelaide) 38:30 [4]
shoes: Asics Nimbus 21

To the weir and back in a big pack with the front-and-middle-runners doubling back to the tail-enders at each bridge. I found a pace/place between Abi and Ana, and to my surprise maintained it quite well. (Would like to be able to drop my hands & elbows more, but hips get in the way.)

running warm up/down 20:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Nimbus 21

Even though yesterday's run was a struggle, it made today's run better. And afterwards I got a call from Susanne saying "Eleanor wants to talk to you because she misses you"! Awww….

running (Bellevue Heights) 46:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 24

Twilight (because the sun set after 10 minutes) run on singletracks around the nose of Bellevue Heights. I found a cupboard nailed to a tree and inside was a complete repair/spares kit for any MTBers who might happen to need its contents - nice.

running long (Belair) 1:56:00 [3] 16.5 km (7:02 / km)
shoes: Asics Nimbus 21

Lovely conversational run with Fern and Zara/Callum up past the still-dry waterfalls, down into the redwoods, park boundary to Olave Hill Rd (great views coming down Olave but my knees didn't like the descent) and back to the golf course via Turners Ave. I can see that I've lost fitness since Easter due to being so busy at work the last couple of weeks - and it's unlikely to quieten down any time soon. Now to take parents to the airport so we can farewell SLEH :(
