orienteering race (Paradise) 55:07 [3] 5.2 km (10:36 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon bluegreen

Nice to be out orienteering in the mallee but my brain was still full of work and knees pretty stiff from the 3 hour drive - Catherine Loye went past me at the 2nd control like I was standing still and then I hobbled down the hill like an old lady. Orienteering's not meant to be painful? Also my hair was getting in my eyes, so that's my excuse for not properly reading the control circle, more than once.

The afternoon was spent with Zara & Steve & Mark waypointing the first 10 control sites for Deceptive Lands, so that's exciting. Rogaining through this country is somehow even more enjoyable than orienteering in it. Also the drive up towards & beyond Dares Hill is just beautiful at this time of year. Won't take much for the greenness to dry off though.

Singletracks up behind Flinders uni with Zara. Unfortunately my foot didn't like this, so I hope that 4 days of rogaine-setting won't aggravate it. Uni footbridge across the gorge has now reopened!

Mitcham & back on a morning where the sun was lovely but my hands still became too cold to turn the key in the front door afterwards. Muscle fatigue, as experienced last night, is still hanging around. Just too much going on lately to be able to keep all of it in my head, and so it manifests as tension!
(at least my dream that B&S came home early and didn't run WOC because Bridget had a fight with Krystal, wasn't true)

running intervals (North Adelaide) 15:00 [5] 3.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Asics Nimbus 21

5 x 400m hard, jog 100m, sprint 100m, with the group. I'm no good at 400s!

running warm up/down 19:00 [3] 3.6 mi (5:17 / mi)
shoes: Asics Nimbus 21

By the time this was over, Bridget had already run her qualification race so we didn't get to watch it.

Bridge to Bridge loop in Penrith, since the river is literally out the front door of the other caravan park. (This loop has been shortened slightly by the building of the footbridge, for which my knees were grateful.) Lots of people out jogging & walking this morning, including someone with an incredibly fat shaggy 'dog' which, upon closer inspection, turned out to have horns and a beard! Nothing says you can't take your goat for a walk...

Flying home over the Blue Mountains, we could look down and see the completely-white carpet on the hills around Oberon.
