Saturday Nov 9 #

7 AM

swimming 34:00 [3] 1.0 km (34:00 / km)

Pleasant pondage before AOTKM, at the end of which I developed a ripper calf cramp, but scoffing a magnesium tablet STAT! seemed to fix it.
7 PM

running 41:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 23

Impossibly slow, partly because legs were hammered from Killer Massage, but I needed a break after an afternoon of talk-writing (would have preferred to have been playing Pin The ____ On The _____ at Biddy's hen's day - at least I made it to the group lunch which was most enjoyable) and wanted to see how the jacaranda bloom is coming along. The purple's slow to develop this year but there's a definite November fragrance of jasmine in the air, which makes me a bit sad that we're not going to Sydney until January.

Friday Nov 8 #

7 PM

running (Bellevue Heights) 1:01:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 24

Even by my usual standards for a Friday, I got a lot less of everything done at work than I wanted/needed to, but at 7pm I decided to stop underachieving and go for a run. Those talks won't write themselves though...

Thursday Nov 7 #

7 PM

running (Belair) 34:30 [3]
shoes: Asics Nimbus 21

Lovely conversational run with Fern, who kept me honest, because even though legs were ok I am pretty exhausted. The reality of 3 talks to write/present, a workshop to organise and a session to chair is looming fast - but worse than that, I am going to have to figure out wearing nice dresses and heeled shoes and makeup (shudder) 4 days in a row next week. At least my hair doesn't need anything done to it each morning...then again, not sure if it's worth bothering with dressing nicely since I will clearly be mutton dressed up as lamb; the bricklayer working next door yesterday thought Geoff was my son!

Wednesday Nov 6 #

6 PM

orienteering (Apex Park) 30:00 [2]
shoes: Asics Nimbus 21

Control picking with a difference, as in: we had to pick the correct tape location within the blanked-out control circles, going from features outside the circle +/- the descriptions. Since many tapes were only a few metres from each other, I'm sure I got some wrong, but I corrected these on the second course by taking both maps with me. Spent some time standing around looking confused, especially among the BMX track earthmounds, so this didn't really count as exercise (but in any case my legs are a bit hammered from Saturday). Still, a good mental break from conference-organising!

Tuesday Nov 5 #

8 PM

running 33:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 24

Seems that when I actually have the energy for running, I don't have the time - and vice versa.
