orienteering (Jamestown Sprint) 26:00 [3] 3.6 km (7:13 / km)
shoes: Asics Kayano 24

After a day of rogaine-setting in the Deceptive Lands (plenty of evidence of last week's flooding - in some places Wonna Creek would have been 50m wide; its catchment basically runs from all the way back up near Hallett) G & I had intended to camp while the others were always going to head home. But it was hot and we were tired, and a shower seemed a good idea, and cabins in Jamestown are always cheap, and I'd just happened to bring the Easter 2015 sprint map, which has held up pretty well...jogged around pretty casually, getting a bit confused on the contentious 'clearing' in the young pines by the silos, and of course I took the tiny suspension bridge across Belalie Creek. This creek is always full of water in town and in fact I believe there are permanent springs upstream but sadly they're on private land and so I've never been to find them. But I did see a tortoise! The section in the school was fun, too, although somehow lacked the orienteering carnival atmosphere this time. On our way back from the pub after dinner we checked out the real estate office's window display and found that you can still get house-and-land in Jamestown or Peterborough for under $100K.

orienteering race (Adelaide Uni) 23:33 [4] 2.6 km (9:03 / km)
shoes: Asics Kayano 24

Fitness is definitely not where I had hoped it would be (too much time spent working on rogaine maps) only a month out from MSW but this was a fun course from Evalin which cleverly avoided the OOB construction sites.

orienteering (Belair) 29:20 [3] 3.6 km (8:09 / km)
shoes: Asics Nimbus 21

I'd saved the leftover maps from Evalin's training a few weeks ago and convinced Zara & Fern to join me in doing 3 similar-but-not-identical courses (one each). I thought this was fun, even if the others weren't sure about the concept, and more importantly it put me in a reasonable mood for the OA Board meeting afterwards.

running tempo 38:20 [4]
shoes: Asics Kayano 24

Hustled over to Hawthorn Oval, 6 x 150m sprints on the grass, back home in time for a shower before AOTKM at which my feet in particular were cramping really badly. Legs have been cramping more lately since I ran out of my favourite iron tonic, which seems to be currently unavailable...

running (Shepherds Hill) 34:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Nimbus 21

3-hills loop in Sheps after finishing off some stuff at work. Started out very tired and breathless but got better, although both sun & hair were in my eyes towards the end.

Also, glad that Barnaby went down...unfortunately the bastard's like a zombie though.

running (Shepherds Hill) 40:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Nimbus 21

Could hardly walk last night with hip flexors/adductors/knees cramping after sitting in the cinema for a few hours (so scrapped the planned bike ride) but today's mobility was better so I thought I'd go and look for evidence of Friday night's rain (only a few puddles left in the creek) before WA meeting.

Note

Not sure what I achieved today apart from taking parents to see Little Women - actually quite a lovely film; we all enjoyed it - and sorting out their flights to Melb on MSW, which meant rescheduling mine (I'm seriously wondering why I'm even going, because I'm so unfit, but now I've promised to take my parents with me to visit mum's cousins...)
