orienteering (Belair) 1:35:00 [3] 7.7 km (12:20 / km)
shoes: Asics Nimbus 23 black/pink

A few Thursday nights ago, the young guys (and Eszter) were heading off to do night-O in the park so I snaffled a spare map with the intention of coming back here in daylight. Today I suddenly realised that I have only 3 weeks to train for state champs (!) so needed to get out into terrain although my back's been very stiff this week and hadn't responded positively to a morning of housework.

I know BNP pretty well of course, so Wee Jasper this definitely wasn't, but I enjoyed it more than I'd thought I was going to do (especially, hunting through the low-vis sections; after all, that's what Broccoli Hill is going to be like) although at some stages snails probably could have overtaken me.

swimming 37:00 [3] 1.0 km (37:00 / km)

Was a bit surprised by the lady in front of me at the entrance putting 10 more visits on her card despite the pool closing for winter on the 26th; either she's planning to swim every day until then or the passes are transferable until next season's opening in September.

Thursday May 16 #

6 PM

running (Belair night) 50:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 28 purple

Made hard work of Western Belair loop although Greg kindly waited for me when the others did the extension along the creek. It's so annoying having to regenerate iron levels only three weeks after the last time, also have had quite a few brain fades this week - not sure if both are attributable to impending mid-life hormones but I think grumpiness may be :(

Wednesday May 15 #

6 PM

running (Flinders Uni) 36:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Nimbus 24 seagreen

I find myself now, looking at the sunset glow and secretly hoping for another aurora...

Tuesday May 14 #

5 PM

running 1:01:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 28 purple

My May resolution was to go to 6pm North Adelaide intervals on Tuesday nights but since again this week the timing was changed to 5:30 and at that time I would have still been in the carpark exit queue at work, again this week instead I went for a headlamp run around Bellevue Heights from work - although this time, I started out by going down into Sturt Gorge before it got dark. Still exhausted from working Sunday although I'm excited by not having any evening meetings this week, and also by the fact that entries are now open for the Port Lincoln events on the June long weekend, not that I'll get to do any bush orienteering practice beforehand.

Monday May 13 #

7 AM

running 31:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 28 purple

Legs definitely dead after standing all day yesterday but I figured there was no reason not to get out for a jog this morning in advance of a Killer Massage tonight.

Sunday May 12 #

5 PM

running (Shepherds Hill) 31:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Nimbus 24B red

Short stagger after work and before taking parents out for dinner (although I would rather have gone aurora-hunting again).
