Dripstone session, 10 or so mins on grass loop on cliff top plus about another 10 on sand, including 1, 2, 3, 1 mins on, 1 min off between. Legs felt quite stuffed, from riding hard to and from work I think. Have agreed to do 16km on Sunday as Bin's team has no runner for the run leg of the long course tri. Think it will be quite a challenge!

A combination of running to park run (19mins) but getting there a couple of minutes after the start, so then running until I caught up to Juli, and then going at her pace (around 7 min/km) when I did eventually catch up. This is the longest run I have done in over a year!

Walked on bike path to the car park before Peewees and back. A bit chilly out, the breeze was strong. Borrowed Nerida's vest after she'd warmed up and I'd cooled down from running.

Ex class on grass in park. Missed little bits here and there but generally E self occupied. Bit more physical with some step ups on the park bench as there were few enough of us that we fit.

Orienteering 1:16:00 [2] 5.3 km (14:20 / km)

Long Hard course at Casuarina Beach, set by Brett. He made good use of the northernmost mapped area, which is weirdly very European in feel with small contour detail in light to mid green semi deciduous forest with a leaf carpet forest floor. Started just after Pascal and met him at 2 which was the first of a series of checkpoints in the detail, then saw Michael Wells near 4 but couldn't work out whether he was looking for it, or 5, or heading for 6. Got through the detailed bit without getting too confused or running off the map, and only dropped time later on at 11, not really being clear with myself about where I'd entered the forest and sort of hoping to see the scrub fowl mounds, but they turned out to be too far in to see from near the edge. A nice morning, though did get sweaty.

Lach took E on short hard in backpack, would have been a challenge in the green.

Finally able to get to park run, it's been a while! Phil was saving himself for the City to Surf, and so ran with Juli. Which meant I had no excuse to go slow. Haven't really run for ages so just stuck with a pace that was comfortable but puffy. Calves not used to it, they're sore now!

With Em, Nerida & babes, from Cool Spot to Lake Alex and back on path. Nice weather though a slight humid feel. Coffee after at Cool Spot, where Moni also was sitting next to us on the next table, so got to have a very good yarn to her too. Think she would have been one of those teachers that students wouldn't forget ever.

Collecting rogaine controls from Lost City rogaine last weekend. Parked at Tolmer Falls and walked south to get 71, while Lach took E to get 41. Tricky area, had been wised up by Lach about how lots of shape isn't shown by contours so tried to be flexible with interpretations of things and instead be confident with direction...only problem was, had no compass! Used the sun and kept checking to see which direction I had come from, in case I had to backtrack to relocate.. Found 71 after a small lap of the big spur and then looking for the next most obvious spur, as it wasn't on the big one, and then headed over to the area near 41 to find the others. Had a quick splash in the creek and headed back to car.
