Off-road running 55:09 [3] 7.0 mi (7:53 / mi) +60m 7:40 / mi
slept:7.1 shoes: Asics Fuji Trabuco

A run I'd been meaning to do for a while, but leaving until this late afternoon was perfect. An idyllic run - from Moulton, past St Peters, Gazeley, fields, around Dalham Hall and back via the stream. Magical run on a beautiful day. Felt battered but really didn't notice it that much!

Note
slept:7.0 (rest day)

We had hoped to do the Relays (with me running a short leg as a SO guest), but twas not to be - punctured exiting the cottage, spent an hour replacing the wheel and then decided to go as we were limited to 50mph with the spare!

Off-road running warm up/down 10:00 [2] 1.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Up from arena to start... Hilly!
1 PM

Orienteering race 1:18:04 [5] 7.9 km (9:53 / km) +350m 8:05 / km
shoes: Integrator 4

JK Day 3: Bigland... Started well n flowing nicely through first dozen controls - lost a little time here n there but nothing major. Long leg through the western slope was vile & I striggled big time. Lost more time on 15 & then a whopping 10 mins on 16 (12.23 for 220 meters!), eventually relocating off 17. Met Logue there n decided to try n track him which I just about managed to 19. Finished v tired but reasonably pleased with my first complete JK since 2010. The one before that was 2005. Let's hope it's not 2020 before that happens again...

Orienteering race 1:08:46 [5] 6.8 km (10:07 / km) +385m 7:53 / km
shoes: Integrator 4

JK Day 2: Ulpha & Barrow... Disappointing run. Never at home on the rough, tough terrain. Lost a couple of mins on 10 & 16, but otherwise just too slow at navigating & running at pace through the terrain.

Before and after JK Sprint...

Orienteering race 16:24 [5] 3.5 km (4:41 / km) +20m 4:33 / km
shoes: Brooks ST 5 Racers

JK Sprint at Lancaster Uni: near faultless run around good course with sum route choice. Lost perhaps 5-10 secs by choosing my route to 14 & poss 2 secs on penultimate leg by hesitating at top of steps. Running well & flat out wen could with no probs with legs or groin. Still down on leaders but couldn't have dun much more.
