Orienteering race 29:21 [4] ** 4.1 km (7:10 / km) +60m 6:40 / km

Skipton Town Race - aah the best race of the weekend :)

I love Urban Orienteering.
Really enjoyed the course, weaving through the pedestrains and traffic, and twisting through the ginnels.
Took one silly route choice in the town, but luckily only a short leg, so lost about 15seconds there. Rest was pretty clean until the really technical little bit at the end when i was tired and i got stuck at the wrong side of a fence. Won by about 4mins i think and managed to beat all the boys too which is god cos they aint slow!
Won some goodies (running top, buff, reflective band, energy gels and a trophie) so tha is always good :)

Wish i had ran the womens open over the weekend, but i was ill when i entered and didn't want the extra distance then.

I learnt to plan ahead as much as possible particually the route choicey legs - but that can be difficult when your trying to avoid being run over by busses, or running into lamposts which i almost did! haha - and that it is okay to slow down in the harder areas if it saves mistakes.
oh, and to look out for those tricky controls with dead ends and such on the obvious route choices.

Legs still ache so gonna take tomorrow off i think.

Orienteering warm up/down 10:00 [1]

Was a bit lazy and didn't really do that much. I know my legs regret it.

Yorkshire Pudding Weekend
Chasing Sprint - Prologue
University of Leeds & Woodhouse Moor

Didn't really do very well, won the Junior Women only by a few seconds and was beaten by most of the boys.
Got really confused on the way to #4 and mis counted the roads and ended up going down a dead end when i had seen it was fenced off on the map! really annoying! Then took a rubbish route choice on the long leg because i got all flustered!
Bit of a disaster really.
Need to - Concentrate more and plan long legs before i get to them!

Orienteering race 12:31 [4] *** 2.0 km (6:16 / km) +30m 5:49 / km

Chasing Sprint - Final

Much better race, kep calm even though i had 9 people on my course starting within the 30 seconds behind me! Legged it to the first one and when turned round they were all there running at me in a line which was scary! Ran my own race though and a few people missed a control out so we got away from them. Ran with Stuart Fraser. 4-5 didn't think you could get through the gate so i went the long way round, but it was open, oops! Tired at the end and had to walk up some steps :( Managed to get away from Kirsten and win, but lost Stuart a few controls from the end.
Really good fun though, i love to sprint! :)

Night Event - oooh scary!

FREEZING!

Was so ridiculously easy because i only ran the short when i normally do the long. Basically all on paths or following fences.
Finally managed to beat Aiden, yay :) we are so competitive!

Good fun to just run with not too much map reading needed.
Fireworks and free soup.... what better way to spend a saturday night!

Orienteering warm up/down 50:00 [1]

I just put all todays as one otherwise there'd be way to many entries on one day. Lots of stretches and jogging to keep warm and raise the heart rate for the sprints.
My legs hurt so much even though i warmed down as well, must have just been running too fast :p

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Gentle running and climbing up the crags of Ilkley moor!

Running hills 10:00 [4]

Did some hill/heather running up the gentle slopes on the moor.
My legs did not enjoy it..

Running long 40:00 [3] 7.0 km (5:43 / km)

Ran along the 'paths'...more like marshes really. Climbed right to the trig point at the very top!
Ran back down through the marshes and heather...so fun!
then for some reason decided I would turn around and go all the way back up just to do it again!
Very enjoyable but really windy.

Orienteering 30:00 [0]

Took the JK maps and walked the last part of the course, visulising the contol circles and identifying different route choices and attackpoints.
