My first run/o event in aaaggges! - Dalby South
A poor effort - was about 15mins down. Thought I was gonna collapse, I am so unfit. Stomach still hurt a lot but I have rested it & had physio for 6 weeks now & it hasn't healed so I don't see how running will make it any worse. Had to walk about a quarter of the course though cos of it.
Navigationally I was okay but it was pretty easy. A bit scrappy at 3, 5, 6 & 12 - just small hesitations. No. 11 lost about 6mins & according to my gps I was right on top of the control several times grrr, stupid spikey forest fight trees.
Loved being able to o again but hated how bad I was & I'm quite worried that it will have made my stomach worse??

Had a little jog to the start & plenty of stretching afterwards - got soaked!

Did some swimming this afternoon - 46 lengths I think.
I was exhausted though cos I'd been out geocaching all morning & must have walked about 7km in the boiling sun - then went straight swimming so was dehydrated & hungary & it didn't really help!

Note

Have not filled this out for a very long time. Have had a torn stomach muscle for about 6 weeks now which is very frustrating & only just starting to heal. Have been doing lots of cycling & swimming but it's not the same. Feels like forever since I have been injury free & actually able to run. Am quite worried that the oringen is so close & I havn't done any proper training since the british middle :( oooh dear...this has not been my year! I am gonna have to take this summers competitions very easy & gentle, & just not rush my recovery. Wish I was at eyoc or jwoc now rather than stuck at home.
