Running race 1:04:00 [3] 8.0 mi (8:00 / mi)
(injured)

Grim Challenge - Ridiculous amounts of ponds to wade through. Sort of a cross between running and swimming really, and very very cold :-)
Couldn't see what was under the water, so I was running along a ridge but I missed my footing, fell off it, and embarrassingly managed to submerge myself entirely. Carried on a bit soggier than before, but oblivious to my poor knee. Look down, blood everywhere, panic, have to finish the race (stupid), off to A&E.
Finished 18th woman, and about 200th overall out of something like 3000 people though - I don't think the roadrunners in their trainers were loving the hills and mud quite so much!
Several stitches later and I can't bend my knee anymore :( Since I can't walk or even put my own shoe on I think training and XC will annoyingly have to wait for at least a week. I think it's the bruising more than anything that's sore.
Quite annoyed since I loved the race and was really getting to enjoy my running again. Oh well, such is life.

1 mile (6:13)
6 x 500m (supposed to be 10km pace but was a bit fast at 2min reps)
++ the recovery jogs between (never allowed to stand still sadly!)

Running intervals (Track) 6:00 [5] 1.4 km (4:17 / km)

200m reps to practice fast race finishes on tired legs. Had the tired legs bit down, not so sure about the fast part.

Really up for it this evening. Had a good day at work, and lots more energy back in the legs. Cranked up the choons!

Note
(rest day)

Really tired. Note to self - attackpoint is not a competition, you've only been training for 3 months, it's okay to chill out :)
