SOL 6 Faery Knowe and Doon Hill, brown course (=JEC M18). Tough course. Oing ok at times but made a lot of errors and didn't seem to be finding good lines through the terrain. Think I was looking down at where my feet were going too much of the time, distracting from bigger picture and focus on the map. Got stuck in some serious grot a couple of times, not to mention the knee deep mud swamp near the finish. Enjoyed the overall experience though and feeling quite strong running in the nicer bits of terrain :-)

Roller skiing 40:00 [2]

Testing out a bit of back road up near Knockburn. Pretty good - 1km of flat smooth tarmac and then a hill. 2 cars and a tractor in the 40'. Mostly out and back on the flat but went up the hill at the end to practice a bit of skate 3. Got a bit ragged near the top and caught my pole under a ski which is a sure recipe for falling over, but no real damage this time. Walked back down to where it flattened out for the return.

Control pick on Dinnet Muir. Kept good map contact and spiked everything except 11... Can see now I needed to be a spur further over. Nice.

Running 3:45:00 [3] 29.5 km (7:38 / km) +650m 6:52 / km

Guiding for RutH day 2 Glenclova - Easter Balmoral. Set off with faster group 10' behind others. Back together by the bridge at Bachnagairn and up the hill to the stables. Down the lightning strike and then round the north side of Loch Muick with the faster ones, beating Neil in the bus to the CP in Glen Muick for lunch. After lunch over to Easter Balmoral by the big track. Set off 10' behind the "slower" group and never caught them - they didn't seem too slow once we got onto better surfaces!
