Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Pre Trossachs. Feeling tired and sluggish.

Orienteering race 1:54:00 [4] 9.1 km (12:32 / km)

Trossachs SOL brown course. Never really racing this, more about survival - it hasn't got any easier here. Got stuck at the top of crags a couple of times and took one stupid route but mostly handling the navigation ok. Didn't take any jbs and running out of energy by the end, which led to some further stupid time loss. Decent hill terrain training and enjoyed the challenge.

Mountain biking 50:00 [3] 14.5 km (3:27 / km)

Back to Strathyre from Callander. Lovely roller-ski tarmac for the first half up to the log cabins, then gradually got rougher, which wasn't so good with my touring road slicks on the MTB. Beautiful route though and good to turn the legs over after a day in SOA Dev summit.

Orienteering race 1:05:00 [4]

Dark Thistle at Fairy Knowe and Doon Hill. Mass start gaffled course. Took it really steady which seemed to be a good tactic. Mostly reasonably happy with nav apart from a stupid mistake in the last loop. V tough and wet out there, but I actually rather enjoyed it!

Running warm up/down 13:00 [2] 2.0 km (6:30 / km)

Warm-up jog round the green then a few drills. Legs feeling pretty stuffed from yesterday and needing twice as long to get going.

Orienteering 27:00 [3] 5.1 km (5:18 / km)

WeTT sprint training in Aboyne for a change. 3 x short loops at the east end. Was really good practice. R knee niggling by the last loop though.

Running 39:00 [3] 5.7 km (6:51 / km) +120m 6:11 / km

From gliding strip out past Braeroddach then through the col and down towards Loch Davan. Bit of off road up the top, but managed to pick up an off-roader track down the other side.

Running intervals 40:00 [5] 6.6 km (6:04 / km) +50m 5:50 / km

Once onto the flat / side road started the intervals bit of the run. Set out to do 8, but changed my mind to 10x3'+1'. Going steady enough and not feeling totally broken by the end. Headed across to ranger's hut at east side of the Muir, then c-w round Loch Kinord.

From end of intervals carried on round the loch, then back to Dinnet and back along the DW to the gliding strip. Running reasonably strongly throughout, but back quite sore and left calf niggling a bit latterly.

Hanging and collecting at Craigendarroch for B ASC. Hard to get going again, but better at the end than the start.

Roller skiing 20:00 [3] 3.0 km (6:40 / km)

Assessment on diagonal stride. Managed to do enough. Level 1 now complete :-)
