From Luibeg up onto the Sron Riach spur and towards Ben Macdui. Lots of snow underfoot, poor visibility (what happened to the forecast?) and windy -very. Almost made the plateau at 1200m but E and I were having trouble staying upright, so turned back. Dropped a way and then decided to try and contour / drop to the col leading onto the Carn a Mhaim ridge. Lots more snow and E got cold feet :-( Things improved once onto the ridge, except the wind got mighty strong up high again, but at least a new Munro for E was salvaged. Out for 4:30 or so.

Back from Luibeg to Linn of Dee. Into the wind - feeling pretty tired.

Cycle in from Linn of Dee to camp at Luibeg where it emerges into the wider valley . Dumped bikes a couple of km short.

With J. Up big Birse track then round the south side of Carnferg to climb onto Brackenstake. Feeling not too bad through this. Crossed FoB church road towards Lamahip then a slow plod through heather up to the top and starting to feel pretty tired. Felt ok back down to Glencat by the track, but once we hit the road I had died and it was a slow walk / jog back up the other side again. Perked up for the descent back to the car.
Nice morning and good to be out with J. Perhaps a bit ambitious so soon after last w/e but hopefully it will pay off in the longer term. Looking for rougher hilly miles over the next few weeks.

Hanging and collecting for ASC. Tried out a trail-O style exercise. Was a bit futtery to hang, but worked quite well I think.

Cruise along the DW from Aboyne - Dinnet and back again. Nice.

Note

Then a wander through the woods hanging controls for cubs session. Jogged a few bits.

Steady round the 2 bridges with DR. Legs as good as could be expected. Been mingin' all day and another blatter of wet snow came in part way round.

Got a real buzz from the w/e. Was quite a strange challenge as you were stating each race with a different objective from most of the people round about you, but good that other Devils were identifiable by their t-shirts... plenty of mutual respect out there.
Realise that I can still get a lot out of doing races even if its more of the "challenge" variety than it once was.
