Up Morrone with J and E in the afternoon. Tested out new running poles, which gave a bit of upper body effort. Out for ~2h.
Feeling like I've been a bit lazy... good sign that I should be ready to get back to some heavier training.

Run up onto the C of M ridge with J during Allt Cailleach training. Really enjoyed this and pleased to feel that I could push up the hill a little. A few cms of snow underfoot. Turned off the path on the way back to follow the spur down through the forest. A bit brashy, but still some nice bits of terrain.

Orienteering 23:00 [2] 2.7 km (8:31 / km) +50m 7:48 / km

Run round the back to pick up the first 8 controls in the E Glen Muick block of forest. Stop / start as I caught the backmarkers sooner than expected. Feet just about warmed up by the end. A bit dreich, but nice bit of forest.

MapRun test at Glenmore Lodge. Nice wee sprint course. Looking good.

Headtorch round the woods with E after too much time in the car. Lovely evening and legs feeling much improved.

Control hanging at Allt Cailleach for Sat training. Plodding. Slowly.

Full steam ahead with project BB now. Aboyne castle. Forgot my kneepads and took the wrong poles (tips a bit blunt) so didn't get too carried away. Took a bit to get into it, but ok once I had.

Roller skiing 43:00 [3] 7.0 km (6:09 / km) +45m 5:57 / km

Me and Tyrebagger have never been best of buddies and reckoned I didn't have much to gain from DNC tonight, so decided to get a few more ski km in instead. Back to AC again, but with a headtorch this time. Better poles made a surprising difference.

Recovery potter along the DW to Potties and back the same way. Still tight under left knee, but will hopefully help to get the blood moving a bit more

Seems like I've escaped unscathed from the w/e. One toe nail gone and some tightness behind the left knee, but otherwise just tired. Slept like a log despite the excess caffeine needed to get us home.
