Skye fun with KH. Woke to rain and still strong wind and pretty much talked myself out of doing anything too exciting, but we weren’t in a rush and soon enough conditions were looking better. K’s plan was for 3 munros Sgurr a Mhaidaidh, Sgurr a Ghreadaidh and Sgurr na Banachdaich with lots of G3 sustained scrambly ridges between them. Easy enough up to An Dorus, then the more interesting stuff began. Took it really carefully and steadily and was pleased never to feel majorly challenged. Cloud came in again and even a bit of rain, so was being even more cautious on the wet rock. Made good enough time despite that and felt super pro compared with some others we passed up there. Really chuffed to have done it; it is a big boost to my rock confidence. Mega thanks to K for being such an awesome guide! Excellent plunge in the pool back down by the hostel to round off a cracking week of homegrown adventures.

Forcan ridge, the Saddle and Sgurr na Sgine with KH. Heavy legged, but not in any rush and the plod up the stalkers path got climb out of the way very easily. Lots of fun on the scramble. A bit airy and scary in places, but happy to stick pretty religiously to the ridge line and handle the challenges. Great to be out with K to give me the confidence to tackle it all. Sun never materialised quite as hoped but dry and mostly out of the cloud.

Western 5 Fannichs (Meall a Chrasgaidh, Sgurr nan Clach Geala, Sgurr nan Each, Sgurr Breac and A Chailleach) solo. Bit of a disappointing day weather wise with cloud clinging over the hills. Got quite chilly in the wind too. Legs feeling pretty stuffed on the climbs, but terrain was generally more runnable, so managed to keep a steady plod going and didn’t stop a huge amount.

In towards Fisherfield from Kinlochewe by Glenn na Muice with RB. Feeling smug about biking rather than running until my chain snapped 10km in. Made some feeble attempts to fix it before abandoning and continuing on foot.

Running 4:00:00 [3] 17.26 km (13:54 / km) +1252m 10:12 / km

Eastern Fisherfield- Beinn Tarsuinn, Mullach Choire Mhic Fhearchair and Sgurr Bann with ME, CR and RB. 3 new ticks. Lovely descent off the Sgurr Dubh ridge with a nice wee scramble.

Freewheel / scooter back out again. Surprisingly easy and still a good bit quicker than running!

Easy spin along the road then out the Loch Coulin track and back the same way. Really windy but dry at least. Legs not too bad after yesterday.

Torridon epic. Blue sky day. Started off on Beinn Eighe with JS, KH, SH, CR, SR, RB and BS. Then continued to Liathach with J, K, SH and C, via a dodgy descent and even iffier climb up the now infamous ‘Steve’s gully’ - lots of loose shxxxy rock that was liable to get dislodged and take each other out. Over the Liathach pinnacles to the high point and then out to the end of the ridge. Then continued with K and J to complete the traverse over Ben Alligin, starting with the horns and continuing along the ridge to drop eventually to cp west of Torridon. Awesome day. Totally stuffed by the end but worth every bit of effort:-)9.5 hours total.
