Back o' Crannach. Set off from Tullich with all the gang who were doing a bigger Morven loop. Felt like a tough effort heading up the glen path and was glad I didn't need to cling on all the way round. Peeled off with JS at the plateau track to return by Peter's Hill and the mast. Much more chilled from then on and even Nevis wasn't getting under my feet any more. Met FD (again) at the top of his path - looking even more of a state than ever and his dug took a distinct dislike to Nevis. About to set off again when GB appeared with boys so stopped for another chat and to let FD get ahead with his dug.
Enough for today. Trying to get some pre race R+R over the next 2 weeks.

(rest day)

Heading for home. Had a brief morning dip in a Loch above Balmacara to remove some of the sweat and grime from last night. Brilliant week made all the better by the biblical weather back home.

A cheeky evening bag of Beinn Fhada from Morvich. Almost changed plans as the wind had got up during the day, but decided it was worth a try. Headed out by the stalkers path up the glen to the north. Rain and wind were coming and going a bit and I actually put on waterproofs for the first time this week, but on the whole it was reasonably sheltered most of the way up onto the hill. Out on top it wasn’t as bad as expected either and made the summit in 2h. It started clearing out quite nicely at this point so decided to continue with my plan A of returning by the ridge to Sgurr a Choire Gharbh. Fantastic views out to the isles again and a lovely ridge line, but the wind started gusting strongly, blowing me sideways a couple of times. Took it really carefully from then on and it took a good bit longer than anticipated to get back off the hill, but still plenty of daylight to play with. Out for just under 4h total. Fab stolen peak and evening adventure :-)

From the road over to Arnisdale down to the sea shore by the Sandaig Islands. Another fine day with stunning coastal views. Had a swim off the rocks mid run - felt really quite pleasant compared with some of the recent icy waters I've plunged into. Just taking it easy on the run, looking to get some recovery.

Working from the van. Overnight in Glengarry then across to Glenelg at lunchtime. Parked up at the high point of the road over to Arnisdale and had a wander up onto Beinn Mhialairigh late afternoon. Awesome views to the Isles and back across Loch Hourn. Think I will just move into the van- internet works waaaay better on the road than at home!

Curved Ridge with KH. Fab. Had been wanting to do this for ages and was great to have K there as my guide. Really didn’t find it too intimidating and was able to enjoy the scramble on wonderful grippy rock. Big tick :-)

Wee trot round Poll a Chaistail map at FW to check it out for a wee local event in July. Beautiful stretch of river.
