Various bits of running around at Balkello - hanging, waking, checking & collecting. Legs feeling more tired today, but better once they’d warmed up. Good day & all went smoothly. Pleased with my interventions to reduce the physicality on the blue. Enjoy controlling, but it doesn’t half take a lot of time!

Balkello controlling. Hung 6 of the NW controls then checked the remainder (bar white / yellow courses). Slow to get moving at the start but once I got going I felt much better than my previous visits here. Trying to keep a bit of pace up on the path sections & pushed a few of the climbs. Took the risk of wearing shorts - ended up with shins getting well hamburgered by dead bracken & heather, and had to do a bit of nettle avoidance, but it was more comfortable elsewhere! Hot at start but cooled off later. Pleased with that, as it actually felt like a vaguely useful bit of training, rather than just a trudge :-)

Aim was to get some quality in at the start of the day while hopefully feeling a bit alive. 15’ jog out via the fields to the track by L’s pond. Then 8x2’ +1’ on (relatively) flattish track. Felt hard on the legs & struggling to get the HR up, though it gradually increased through the session. Passed LB a couple of times also doing her reps on the same track. 5’ dip in the pond at the end, then 10’ jog back. Pleased to tick this one off - 10 weeks to CMUR and ready now to grind through some more structured training. The base is there, just needs focus on some more targeted sessions.
Felt great after :-)

Lovely evening up Benawilly with ME & SP. Dropped off the far side & back round the bottom, then a short extra up onto Glenshalg to finish. Feeling pretty wappit but this was lovely.
