Steady Run 1:02:00 [3] 11.5 km (5:23 / km)
shoes: Saucony Cohesion

A nice running club session from the Tennis Courts at Newton Poppleford. We went around the southern side of the village and then climbed up onto the Common at Joneys Cross. Then we ran around the common for a bit before heading back to town through the orchard and by the river. The views were stunning on a lovely early autumn morning.

Hashing tempo 1:00:00 [4] 11.0 km (5:27 / km)
shoes: Inov8 Mudrock 290

Hashing from Budleigh Riding School on the edge of Woodbury Common. It was a glorious moon-lit night, so I ran some bits without my torch on. Sadly the trail, although very good, was too short!....so me, Flash, Emperor Ming and Radiohead did a second lap!!

Warm up/down 15:00 [3] 3.0 km (5:00 / km)

Intervals tempo 20:00 [4] 3.5 km (5:43 / km)
shoes: Hi Tec R154

As it was a really nice clear and still evening we decided to do efforts along the seafront. We did two sets of three 580 metre ish efforts, with about 80 seconds rest. We had just over 2 minutes between the sets. Splits roughly as follows:

1:51
1:50
1:48
REST
1:44
1:49
1:43

Weirdly, we did the second set faster!

7 PM

Hashing tempo 45:00 [4] 8.5 km (5:18 / km)
shoes: Inov8 Mudrock 290

A good hash from Escot.....which is just north if the A30 (and, therefore, in the north!), so we were lucky to have any trail at all because it had been pissing down in a big way up there. Fortunately, most of it was still there, and we had a really good run. I felt a bit rough to start with (ate too soon before the run), but then got going and finished strongly.

Steady Run 51:00 [3] 10.5 km (4:51 / km)
shoes: Saucony Cohesion

Took the day off work and went on the Sidmouth Running Club Friday morning session. We went from White Bridge near Budleigh, and went up the River Otter to Clamour Bridge, then to Stantyway Farm. From there, I did a 2k extension down to Ladram Bay and set myself the challenge of chasing the rest of the pack back along the coastal path. I got them with about 1500 metres to go. A good session! :-)

An excellent City of Exeter hash from Joney's Cross, on Woodbury Common, on a glorious warm and sunny late summer day. Stunning views from the common along the coast, and over to Dartmoor. Took a little while to get going after yesterday, but felt good once I got into it. FF tried to race to towards the end up the final hill, but failed miserably!!
3 PM

Orienteering 1:30:00 [3] 8.0 km (11:15 / km)
shoes: Inov8 Fell Shoes (2010)

After lunch, and a bit of sun bathing on Sidmouth beach, I headed back up to Mutters Moor to tag the rest of the control sites. Its looking like the area will be in good shape come January for the event - loving the detail in the new bit of woodland, and the views from the new bit of open area are awesome!!

Steady Run 1:30:00 [3] 10.0 km (9:00 / km)
shoes: Saucony Cohesion

Helping Lilo lay her City of Exeter Hash from Wheathill Plantation on Woodbury Common. Basically, I laid the 'long' bits while she did the shorts. So I was running fairly hard (well, as hard as one can with several bags of flour to carry around!) when I was on my own, but was pretty much walking with Lilo when we where together coz Lilo decided to wear boots rather than running shoes!

It was a gorgeous late summer morning - warm and sunny which made the common and the views over to Dartmoor and along the coast really special.
11 AM

Hashing 1:00:00 [3] 10.0 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Saucony Cohesion

Running the hash we'd just laid. I ran with the FRB's (Fast Running B*****d's), while Lilo went with the main pack. It worked out really well and everyone enjoyed it. A good day on the Common! :-)

Hashing 2:20:00 [4] 25.0 km (5:36 / km) +950m 4:42 / km
shoes: Inov8 Mudrock 290

A really good A2B hash from Bickleigh. We headed straight out into the 'wilderness' or remote farmland and woodland with plenty of big hills and deep valleys - quite easy to get disorientated.....even for me as an orienteer, so Shatnav didn't have a clue!! We ended up at a pub just to the north-west of Tiverton. A good run on some virgin hashing terrain.

Stretching/Core Stability 15:00 [1]

Steady Run 1:00:00 [3] 10.0 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Saucony Excursion

Had the day off work, so I decided to go to the running club Friday session. It was from Joneys Cross (yep, just a few hours after I was hashing from the same place!) on a nice late summer morning. We headed out through the woods and out on to the main common. Then around there for a bit before heading down to Colaton Raleigh, and climbing back to Joneys Cross.

Hashing tempo 56:00 [4] 10.5 km (5:20 / km)

A really good hash from Joneys Cross on Woodbury Common, on a nice late summer evening. Plenty of fast running and some good climbs too. It was a nice moonlit night, so I ran dome bits with my torch off!
