Running (Falls Creek) 1:38:17 [3] 14.31 km (6:52 / km) +288m 6:14 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212

The guy in charge of the Falls mtb trails told me they were closed to riders apart from competition so I was allowed to run them without being getting runover by riders coming downhill.

These trails were so awesome to run, and it's a shame runners arent able to run them more often, especially high voltage. That said I did say it would be really cool to put on a running event where runners got to run the bike trails - Xena (events coordinator) said if we come up with a proposal, outside of shuttling time they might up for it. Given there were only 150 competitors in the Enduro I don't think it takes many people for Falls to put on something. Food for thought. Really nice group of people who put in heaps of effort - the CEO manned a checkpoint.

Run was lovely, especially getting the sun above the clouds. Missed out on doing ok on a Strava segment because I stopped to chat to a marshal.

Enduro racing is weird - some guys must have been out for 6 hours but competition time was about 30 minutes.

Running (Frying Pan Spur) 1:33:15 [3] 11.01 km (8:28 / km) +441m 7:03 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212

It was snowing!!

Plan was to go up the Wishing Well hiking trail, then down the Frying Pan Spur hiking trail I'd never been down and back up Packhorse. Simple. and a recommended 7 peaks run.

It didn't turn out quite as planned.

Up Wishing Well was all good, quite a nice climb, never too steep, stopped halfway to take jumper off. Started down hiking trail and things slowed up. Bit like no one else had been there for a long long time. Reminiscent of Lake Mountain (also a 7 peaks run). It took me about 15 minutes to do a kilometre and I still fell over.

Hit flowtown and decided to just run the mtb trail (if I'd realised at this point the trails were shut I might have done this to start with...). Got to Packhorse and it was shut for felling. Phoned James (who was putting gates out) to work out plan as didn't fancy running up the road. He reckoned run up flowtown, so started to do that and after a k a tree cracked and cme down just up the hill from me. Freaked and decided I didn't want to be there, but was asked just to run up and check it wasn't across the track....

It didn't seem to be and I decided to get out, then ran 3k up the road before I was picked up for the sake of getting a bit more running in.
