Running warm up/down 8:52 [2] 1.56 km (5:41 / km)
ahr:146 max:170 slept:7.5 shoes: Inov-8 xtalon 212

(Too) short warming up before the relay competition

Orienteering race 32:02 [5] ** 5.9 km (5:26 / km)
ahr:193 max:199 spiked:24/28c shoes: Inov-8 xtalon 212

Flemish (district) relay champs - Rivierenhof
Result: 6th (as first leg runner)
Team result: 3rd (http://www.trol.be/trolresultaten/20100606Aflossin...)
Distance Gps: 7.49km

Good start, was running in the leading group (Yannick and Pieter ahead of me) untill the 3rd control. Then i made a stupid mistake together with Dries dvk, we ran in the wrong direction and lost many places. From 4 untill 10 together with Ken P and we were closing the gap with leading group (Yannick, Pieter and Jeremy).
Towards control 11, i ran towards the wrong control and lost a lot of time. Also at control 12 a mistake, so all strong runners had passed me. From then on i decided to orienteer on my own and still overtook several runners (Tristan Bloemen, Guido Verdeyen, Jo Linten, Wannes Hendrickx, Dries vdk, Jeremy Genar) and finished right behind Jeroen vdk.
Physically i wasn't as strong as yesterday, my upperlegs (quadriceps) felt sore and tired.
12 PM

Running warm up/down 17:30 [2] 2.28 km (7:41 / km)
ahr:128 max:139 shoes: Inov-8 xtalon 212

Slow cooling down with the map in a little group (Jeroen vdk, Ken and Winston). Also Wouter Foppen and Jan Delobel joined us when we met them in the forest.

Running warm up/down 15:28 [2] 3.01 km (5:08 / km)
ahr:149 max:180 slept:8.5 shoes: Mizuno wave precision 9

Warming up with Winston before the duathlon race in Rijkevorsel, including 2 accelerations.

Running race 14:00 [5] 4.14 km (3:23 / km)
ahr:198 max:203 shoes: Mizuno wave precision 9

Duathlon Rijkevorsel - relay
Result: 4th

Together with one of my students (Stef Beyers) i participated at the duathlon relay competition. I did the running part and he did the cycling part. The first running part was 4.2km and i finished in 4th position together with 2 other runners (they participated in the individual competition). Gino Steemans (duo) and Tim van Hemel (individual) finished in the lead ahead of Kristof Van Rooy (duo). So we were in 3rd position in the duo-competition after my run.
Laptime 1: 6'47
Laptime 2: 7'12

Running warm up/down 7:00 [2] 1.13 km (6:12 / km)
ahr:167 max:183 shoes: Mizuno wave precision 9

Warming up for my 2nd running part, while Stef was cycling.
Stef did a great job, he finished in the lead together with 2 individual athletes (Tim van Hemel and Nick Baelus). This trio was 50 seconds ahead of a big group. I needed this advantage, because Gino Steemans is a much stronger runner than me.

Running race 6:55 [5] 2.1 km (3:18 / km)
ahr:198 max:206 shoes: Mizuno wave precision 9

Duathlon Rijkevorsel - relay
Result: 1st
Results duo teams: http://www.duatlon.be/uitslag-duos.html
All results: http://www.duatlon.be/uitslagen.html

Because of a fast changeover i could start in the lead just ahead of 2 athletes who completed the whole duathlon alone. I heard that Tim van Hemel was closing the gap, but the last km he was 20m behind me whole the time. So i succeeded to finish in 1st position. The 2nd duo team (with Gino Steemans) finished 30seconds later. It was a nice competition and even more nice to win it.
Laptime 3: 6'55

Running warm up/down 11:17 [2] 1.77 km (6:22 / km)
ahr:148 max:155

Cooling down with Winston who participated as individual at this duathlon.

Cycling (racebike) 1:00:54 [2] 24.68 km (24.3 kph)
ahr:112 max:153 slept:8.0

Easy cycling with my sister.
I felt pain in my shins whole day, not a good sign. I'll run 2 competitions this weekend and afterwards i'll take some rest. No running for a while.

Note
slept:9.0 (rest day)

Need a restday, i don't want to get injured. Since last week my achilles hurts a little bit and i also have some pain in my shins (same feeling as last year: compartiments syndrom). I don't want to get injured again, so more cycling and less running next week.

Running race 34:32 [5] 9.7 km (3:34 / km)
ahr:201 max:206 shoes: Mizuno wave precision 9

Streetrace 10km Hoogstraten
Result: 17th (10th in my class): http://www.hoogstraten.be/177352.fil
Result and story edition 2009: http://www.attackpoint.org/viewlog.jsp/user_4998/p...

Bram and me have been talking about this race for weeks, so we both were very motivated to beat each other. He already ran a 10k race in 32' this season, so i didn't expect to win this intern competition.
At the beginning of the race i focused on following Bram and Wannes Hendrick. I felt that this start was too fast for me, but i wanted to stay with them. When i looked at my watch we were running 20km/h the first kilometers. At 3km point i decided to slow down, because they ran too fast. I continued running my own race and passed Bram and Wannes in the first loop (5km). The 2nd loop was very tough for me, because of starting too fast. I had the impression that i was really slow. In the end i was 3 seconds faster than last year. I think with a slower start i could have run 30" faster today.

Splittimes:
Loop 1 (5km): 16'38
Loop 2 (5km): 17'55

Results: Pieter Hendrickx won the race. Wannes Hendrickx 35', Wim Dal 37', Bram Everaert 38', Greet DAL 39'.

Running warm up/down 10:41 [2] 1.62 km (6:36 / km)
ahr:145 max:153 shoes: Mizuno wave precision 9

Cooling down with Bram.

No athleticstraining. My legs are still tired, so i did a short and easy run. I hope i'll be recovered tomorrow, because of the 10k race.
