orienteering (red) 1:22:21 [3] 6.5 km (12:40 / km)

UNO Boulder Dash, Pawtuckaway NH. Red. Took some asprin and hoped my shin did not hurt to bad. Ran conservatively, messed up first and 10th controls. With Pam James for 3-6 until an encounter with a tree separated us. Shin held up ok, but was hurting by end. Splits are posted.

orienteering (night) 45:00 [1] 3.0 km (15:00 / km)

UNO, Vampire-O. 45 minute night score event. Started as a vampire and was vampired by Vladamir and again by Randy Hall to finish as one. Shin started to hurt a lot so walked all but first 5 minutes. Never left the trails except to punch. Distance is guess. Will measure on map later.

Square dancing (basic) 15:00 [1]

At Boomerangs. 8-9:30. Seemed like a good way to see how my shin is healing. Still sore, but not painful.

Note

Still limping around. Looks like shin splints of the anterior tibia. Hope it is just short term caused by the racewalk and will clear up with a few days rest. I usually feel some shin pain when first getting back in racewalking but do not normally compound it by orienteering while still sore.
Planned on a rest week before the Boulder Dash this weekend anyway.

other (field official) 30:00 [1]

Potomac Valley Games. 9-11. Worked the field for the shot put.

orienteering (blue) 2:04:44 [3] 8.35 km (14:56 / km)

QOC. Great Falls MD. blue course. 12:15pm Shin still sore but thought it would loosen up while running. It did not. Hurt more and more, while I got slower and slower. Walked the end.
Decided to skip a planned 15k race in the evening.
