run (road) 1:28:59 [2] 10.27 mi (8:40 / mi)

Have not been home on weekend for awhile. Good opportunity to go to DCRRC Saturday Long Run, so of course I slept in and missed it. Rained anyway.
Went out on my own later intending to go 90 min. Shreve, to W and OD trail, to mile 5. Turned around at 45:20. Distance estimated from splits on trail. Hot and muggy when I started and raining again when I finished.
Need to start drinking more again. Weight was down to 163 when I finished. I was 175 just last week.

Lots of rain all week has been dampening my will to go out and run.

track (warmup) 6:02 [2] 0.98 km (6:09 / km)

Warmup on track. Got to workout late so cut it short. I was warming up while others already started.

track (long intervals) 40:19 [4] 9.0 km (4:29 / km)

DCRRC track work. Washington and Lee HS. 7:15pm. Showers just before the workout. Hot and humid. 4 x 5 min at 5k pace with 5 min jog rest. Goal 5k pace was 88 sec/lap or 4:24 at 1200m. Went about 1350m each time. Jog was about 900m each time with some standing at the start until the full 5 min was up. Time at 1200m 4:23 4:24 4:24 4:56. On the last one I was alone because everyone else had finished. Gave up after 1 lap because I needed to go the restroom.

orienteering (long) 1:50:46 [4] 12.5 km (8:52 / km)
spiked:6/9c

USOF Long O Champs. CNYO RedY. Started slowly and then sped up to blow the 3rd control, losing 12 minutes. Seeded starts meant I dropped back enough to be with many of the red studs. They pulled me around the course before I misread some stuff at the end and dropped another 7 minutes. Course was not as phyically demanding as some previous long-o. Small amount of climb allowed me to keep up good speed.
Splits are posted.
