run (warmup) 25:25 [2] 2.5 mi (10:10 / mi)

4:15pm. Jog from Ted's house to the start area and jog back after running. This was the unveiling of my new O-suit purchased at the Jukola. It got a reaction; those must have been snickers and laughs of jealousy.

We warmed up for the warmup with some HORSE disc golf and about 7 holes of disc golf in the woods.

QOC Summer training. Squirrel Chase - field . 1/5000 scale. Mostly open fields. 6:40pm temps in high 80s. Handicap format with Eddie B as the squirrel chasing us, and Jon Torrance chasing Eddie. Everyone was armed with peanuts to throw at Eddie to distract his concentration as he passed. I had a fairly early start in deference to my advancing age and declining training. Caught Peggy and Tim Blaisdell at 2, Andy Strat at 3. Dropped Peggy and Andy in the open running but could not lose Tim. Almost succeeded when we went from 7 to 9 and he hesitated but a bad route thru some green on the way to 10 lost my advantage. Held him off all the way to the final kick only to have him blow by me easily.

6:10pm. Second part of Squirrel Chase. In the woods on 1/10 map. Totally exhausted from earlier so not much speed. Nearly cramped in the middle. Made the middle disc golf shot at the end to receive a 2 minute time bonus for 31 net. Scoring for the even was based on minimum drop-off in time from the field to woods section. I avoided the big mistakes and think I was 4th. The 2 minute bonus really helped. Afterwards was the typical fun and games at Ted and Darcy's. Fussbol, table tennis, air hockey and pizza. A little less game playing this year because we watched a lot of the olympics instead.

Wave pool at Kings Dominion. Much nicer than last time because I remembered my goggles.
