Event: Susquehanna Stumble

orienteering (stumble) 4:04:47 [3] 18.78 km (13:02 / km) +500m 11:30 / km
spiked:21/33c slept:6.0
Another headache to start the day so nothing but ibuprofen and ERG for breakfast. Got Io off to the dance then drove to the Stumble. Feeling better by race time but generally weak and tired.
Susquehanna Stumble. 12 noon. Had to go since I am one of only 3 who have completed all of them. Longer and harder than usual. I had budgeted 3 hours to run and was over 4. Managed to keep a reasonable pace for the first 1/2 (95 min) but slowed and walked a lot the 2nd half. Did not orienteer well the 2nd half either.
Splits and comments are posted.
Square dancing (plus,rounds) 50:00 [1]
Harvest Moon Festival. Back to Cherry Hill for the evening session. Because I took so long at the Stumble, I missed my dinner plans with Io. Felt a bit sick anyway so probably just as well, but feeling much better than this morning. Danced the full session this time. 8-11pm

LONG - Splits

Friday Nov 19

Square dancing (plus,rounds) 10:00 [1]
slept:4.0 (sick)
At Harvest Moon Festival in Cherry Hill NJ. Left work at 1:30 to drive to Lancaster PA to pick up Io and then on to Cherry Hill. Another headache on the way; usually means the first signs of bad cold or flu. Recovered slightly by dance time 8-11pm but was content to sit out most of the time and relax. Spent a lot of time observing the callers technique and choreography.

Thursday Nov 18

Square dancing (plus, rounds) 25:00 [1]
At B and B 7-9:30 pm. Had a mild headache at the start of the workshop at 7. To much turning so by the start of the dance at 7:30 I had full headache and had to take a break until 8:30. Had hoped to run later but by the time I finished packing for weekend trip, decided sleep more important.

Wednesday Nov 17

Square dancing (mainstream) 25:00 [1]
At Boomerangs 7:30-9:00. Caller had a sore throat so we stopped early.

Tuesday Nov 16

Square dancing (dbd,rounds) 30:00 [1]
At Dixie Stars 8-10pm.

Monday Nov 15

Square dancing (advanced) 30:00 [1]
At advanced class 8:10-10pm. A bit rusty after missing class the last 2 weeks.

Sunday Nov 14

orienteering (red) 1:04:24 [4] 6.76 km (9:32 / km) +230m 8:08 / km
spiked:14/11c slept:8.0
Mid Atlantic Champs. Hammond Rocks PA. Red course. Good clean run. Only one easily corrected error and twice my bearing was slightly off. Finished 1rst since many of those who usually beat me ran blue. Still getting pretty tired and need to work on my speed but much better than last week.
Splits are posted.
orienteering (relay) 30:22 [4] 3.6 km (8:26 / km) +135m 7:06 / km
spiked:7/8c
Mid Atlantic Champs: Relay. I ran the 3rd leg of a QOC team with Greg Lennon and Mihai S. Not one of the top QOC teams so little pressure. By the time I started, the field was spaced out so ran the course alone except for when I passed another team. Not recovered from Red run earlier so struggled on the uphills.
Splits are posted.

Relay leg 3 - Splits
