orienteering long (highlander) 7:16:09 [3] *** 26.3 km (16:35 / km)
spiked:16/26c slept:0.0 shoes: Integrator03

Hudson Highlander 9am.
Probably should not have gone out to dinner with Bev last night but had not planned to be very competitive this year anyway. Stayed out to late and still had to pack and burn some CDs to listen to on the drive up. Never made it to bed and left at 3:13 for NY, arriving at 8:17. Went out slow and got slower, walking most of the last 2 maps. Came close to cramping but never had to stop. Unusual highlander in that I spent most of the course alone or with people in the general area as opposed to orienteering in a pack. In the splits I see that I was near Dean S for much of the course. Except for sections near 8-9 and 10-12 we mostly went our own way and met up at the controls. Naviagated reasonably well until the last loop (I was definately alone then) when I blew 5 of the last 6 controls. Home by 11:30pm.
Splits and comments will be posted.

run (road) 32:12 [2] 4.0 mi (8:03 / mi)
slept:7.0 shoes: Saucony Grid Shadow

12:15pm. Too late for any Highlander training but a well timed run today should reduce any pit stop problems tomorrow. Lee Graham 50 route. 8:53, 7:47, 7:54, 7:39

Square dancing (rounds) 35:00 [1]
shoes: Rockport

At Eum Paw Paws. 3:15-6:30pm. Phase IV waltz in the intermediate class but the advanced class is mostly over our head. Sat out 45 minutes while they reviewed dances from last semester before. Last 45 min was teaching a phase V Jive.

Square dancing (plus) 3:00 [1]
shoes: Rockport

At Merry Notes. 8:15-10p. Bev was resting her sore foot so I worked late, arrived late and danced little. Probably good for my foot as well since I seem to have twisted it a bit at Accotink and it has not improved much.

run (road) 16:58 [2] 2.0 mi (8:29 / mi)
shoes: Avia

8am. 2nd half of last nights run. Same problems as yesterday but in the morning I expect it. 8:55, 8:03

Square dancing (rounds, plus) 20:00 [1]
(sick) shoes: Rockport

At Boomerangs. 7-9:30. Rounds for first hour, then squares and rounds until 8:30. Had a mild headache when I started and it got worse so sat out the rest until the last 10 minutes.
Decided not to go running after I got home.

Square dancing (mainstream) 20:00 [1]
weight:178lbs shoes: Rockport

At Boomerangs 8-9:30pm

run (road) 14:09 [1] 1.5 mi (9:26 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Grid Stabil

11:30pm. Not sure why I bothered. Knew I would need a rest room and not go very far.

Square dancing (double) 25:00 [1]
weight:178lbs shoes: Rockport

At Capitol Squares practice 8-10pm.
All this dancing is making it hard to keep my weight down. Festivals invariably include a lot of going out to eat so I come home from a weekend of dancing up 2 pounds.
