run warm up/down (road) 16:18 [1] 1.85 mi (8:49 / mi)
slept:7.0 shoes: Addidas

Warmup before the DCRRC race. Since there was a shortage of rest rooms at the race last year, I decided to warmup at home, have no lines then drive to the race. 2 loops of the apartment complex.(1.5mi 13:18) Might have worked if I could remember how to get to where the race is held. Just enough wrong turns to be late. The leaders were running by as I was leaving the car. Still had to register and get to the start 1/3 mile away. ... And I still had to go the rest room again anyway. But there were no lines.

run race (road) 1:14:51 [4] 10.0 mi (7:29 / mi)
shoes: Addidas

DCRRC Al Lewis 10mi. Rock Creek. Saw Peggy and Nadim as I was running to the start. Think they were finishing a MCRRC training run. Started the race 9 minutes late. Hard to get motivated to race, felt good miles 2-6 but hurting by the end. Splits: 7:25, 13:57, 7:10, 7:51(uphill), 7:15(downhill), 7:38, 8:02, 8:08, 7:26.
Race time 1:24:02. Once again I dig myself into a deep hole for the Snowball series scoring

Square dancing (rounds) 25:00 [1]
shoes: Dockers Gordon

At Eum Paw Paws. 3:30-5. Working on Bolero. After the race I went over to my mothers to put in a few hours work but felt so bad from the race did not work very hard. Feeling better by the time for Round dance class with Bev.

Square dancing (rounds, plus) 37:00 [1]
weight:178lbs shoes: Dockers Gordon

At B and B. 7-9:30pm.

run (road) 35:25 [2] 4.0 mi (8:51 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Grid Shadow

11pm. Lee-Graham-50 route. Time for some New Years resolutions to start kicking in. This helps the ones about milage and not being a wimp when it is cold and dark. Still have to address the ones about training quality since this was very slow. 9:07, 9:02, 8:50, 8:27

Used my new MP3 player for the first time while running. Weird Al Yankovic - Alapaloosa and Square Dance calls are the only things I have in MP3 format. Run was short enough that Weird Al was all I needed.

Note

Noticed after the run that my shoes are getting a bit worn. Should probably be getting a new pair of primary training shoes. The Saucony Grid Shadows are several years old and have over 500 recorded miles.

Sunday Jan 1, 2006 #

walk 20:00 [1] 1.0 mi (20:00 / mi)

No quick starts on exercise this year. Walking with Bev to look at Christmas lights. Then went driving to see the really big displays we knew of.
