Note
The results from last years Postal Hour Walk came in the mail last night. I found where all the good racewalkers have gone. .. Other teams. I was 9th in age group last year, 46th male, and 56th overall of 306. Also went 232m farther. Did manage 2nd in a weak 40-49 mens team field.
Need to get my distance up to 11k to have a shot at age group awards. Open winners are over 13k.
run (road) 37:04 [2]4.4 mi (8:25 / mi)
(injured) shoes: Saucony Grid Shadow
7pm. With Ted on the double park loop at his house. I set the pace so slower than he usually goes but he was able to tell me all about the sprint finals while running. 9:15, (1:40), 8:13, 8:10, (1:41), 8:05

Not really injured, but am recording the poison ivy as an injury. It has gotten worse and does not appear to have peaked yet.

Monday Sep 18

Note
9/18-9/22 Business trip to White Sands NM (CANCELLED)
C • Let me know if your trip is re... 1
Square dancing (advanced) 25:00 [1]
shoes: Dockers Gordon
New advanced class is starting. 7:30-9:30pm
Skipped running tonight. Still tired from Sunday and my knee has hurt a bit. Started saturday at round dance class during a hinge and has had occasional twinges since then. A bit of rest should help.
Note
Seem to have picked up some poison ivy Sunday. Looks like it is going to more than just one little spot.

Sunday Sep 17

racewalk race (track) 1:00:00 [4]9.81 km (6:07 / km) +0m 6:07 / km
shoes: Reebok Walking
PVTC: 1 Hour Walk. Falls Church HS 9am. Had some trouble gettin my stuff together so just got to the race on time. No warmup, just register, restroom, and start. Where have all the good racewalkers gone? I led the whole way and I am far from in the best of shape. Hoped to finish without falling apart and get in 6 miles in the hour. At 1/2 way point tried to speed up enough to get 10k but could not maintain the pace. Finished with 9811m . 1600m splits. 10:03, 9:56, 9:46, 9:44, 9:45, 9:39
orienteering (sprint) 35:51 [2]*** 2.5 km (14:20 / km)
spiked:7/10c shoes: Integrator05-studs
QOC: Hemlock Overlook. Even with a nap and waiting until late, I was still beat from this morning. Racewalking always kills my stomach and shins unless I have been practicing.
Needed some time in the woods so signed up for the sprint and green courses figureing that was all I would have time for. 1:50 pm sprint course. No sprinting for me and not much running either. Felt pretty bad and walked a lot of it.
orienteering (green) 1:35:07 [2]*** 4.5 km (21:08 / km)
spiked:7/9c shoes: Integrator05-studs
QOC: Hemlock Overlook. Green course. Changed maps and punch cards and immediately went out on Green. 2:30pm. Supposed to be back by 4 and would have made it except for missing #8. Except for some jogging on the trails, walked the whole thing.
walk 20:00 [1]1.0 mi (20:00 / mi)
shoes: Avia
Walk with Bev before watching the Redskins lose.
