run race (road) 1:14:47 [3] 10.0 mi (7:29 / mi)
slept:0.0 weight:179lbs shoes: Addidas

DCRRC: Al Lewis 10mi. Kensington MD. Out and back mostly on Rock Creek Bike Path. No sleep last night after spending the night on the computer at work. Also a bit tired from trying to increase my milage but still thought I could run ok. Had not counted on the heat. Only mid 60s F at 9am but I started fading at 6 miles and struggled the last few. 7:30, 6:46, 7:12, 7:10, 7:49 (uphill), 7:09 (downhill), 7:34, 7:52, 7:53, 7:53. At least I kept my shuffle pace under 8 min/mi. Just 4 seconds faster than last year running much the same splits. Still it was faster than the 76:20 after Thanksgiving and a better pace than 7:53 at 1/2 marathon in early Dec.

run (warmup) 7:54 [1] 0.79 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: Addidas

Warmup jog before the race. Had wanted to do more but there was a long line for the bathrooms and most of my prerace time was spent there.

walk warm up/down 22:33 [1] 1.0 mi (22:33 / mi)
shoes: Addidas

Wanted to get 13 miles today so thought about a 2 mile warmdown. Feeling so crappy by the time I finished this was all I could manage. Drank a lot and walked out and back on the course for a mile. Kept me from getting any cramps on the drive home.

run (trail,road) 39:08 [2] 4.5 mi (8:42 / mi)
weight:179lbs shoes: Saucony Grid Stabil

Burke Lake. Used the trail by the lake for the full loop instead of the road section in the normal 4.5 mile loop I run. Missed seeing a 0 or 4.5 mile marker but based on time seems about the same. (6:01), 8:52, 8:20, 8:21, (7:34). Cooled down with another 6 holes of disc golf. Another 1 over with 2 bogeys and a birdie. Getting good drives but cannot seem to make any medium putts. Putt for birdie, just miss and drop it in for par.

Taking today's weight as the end of the holiday eating season. Total gain since just before Thanksgiving was -1 so I did not gain any weight. Probably due more to an increase in my running during December than any moderation in eating.

Square dancing (rounds, plus) 35:00 [1]
shoes: Dockers Gordon

At B & B. 7:30-9:30pm. Bev has been sick so dancing is down a bit but this is a singles club so no problem getting partners.

run (trail, road) 1:12:01 [3] 9.0 mi (8:00 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Grid Stabil

Another warm sunny winter day in the mid 50s. Since I watched Wake Forest in the Orange Bowl last night instead of running, did two loops today to make up for it. Burke Lake 4.5mi route twice, once forward and then once in reverse direction. (4:41), 8:12, 7:43, 7:47, (7:42), (8:01), 8:04, 8:00, 7:47, (4:06)
Warmed down with the first 6 holes on the disc golf course. 1 birdie, 1 bogey, & 1 triple bogey (I missed the required dogleg) to finish 3 over.

Note
slept:8.0 (rest day)

Started off the year with a session of being a couch potato. Spent the day at Bevs watching TV. Skipped most of the football to watch the Monk marathon instead. Took down the tree and packed up the Christmas stuff so whole day was not wasted.
