other (moving) 15:00 [2]
shoes: Walmart - Carson

Full day of packing last night, today, and tonight. Still recording as 1 minute for each load carried out to the car.

Normally I would not bother with what shoes I was wearing because I wear some old running shoes that I no longer run in. Should have continued that practice. I was wearing my almost new cheap running shoes from Walmart and at some point I popped them. They have an air pocket cushion in the heel and I noticed on Sunday that I had popped one of them. Not sure when but probably when I was knocking apart an old dresser that was falling apart so I did not plan to move it.

Square dancing (rounds) 45:00 [1]
shoes: Barbettes

At Eum Paw Paws. 2-5 pm. The cuers/instructors for this club are moving so this was their last one.

other (moving) 9:00 [2]

Full load today. Mostly books - about 1/2 of my Science fiction & fantasy collection.

other (moving) 5:00 [1]
shoes: Walmart - white

Small load today. Did not get much packed last night. Made up for it by cleaning the carpets. Rented a rug doctor and did all the carpets and the stairs in the new house. Much like cutting the grass except instead of pushing the mower, I pull the carpet machine. Spent over 4 hours walking back and forth, also includes vacuuming the carpets first.

run (road, trail) 19:12 [1] 2.1 mi (9:09 / mi)
weight:177lbs shoes: Saucony Grid Shadow

Burke Lake. Feeling tired and sluggish, probably from to much time packing and not enough time sleeping or running. Weight is down though. Only did the short out and back that goes by the pull up bar.

disc golf (practice) 6:00 [1] 0.29 mi (20:41 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Grid Shadow

Burke Lake. 6 holes. Used the new Frisbee Mid Range driver. 1 warm up throw then on to the course. Could get to like this disc, seems to fly very straight with little turn or fade. Unfortunately I have gotten used to more fade so did not have great drives, just good ones. Also putted poorly, probably because the disc is heavier than most of my others. Finished at 1 over after missing an easy putt. Wear could be a problem, plastic was grippy, but must be soft. A lot of wear in a short time. Frisbee makes another line of golf discs with harder plastic, I think I can guess why.

Square dancing (basic) 30:00 [1]
shoes: Blair - Botany 500

At Boomerangs. 7:30-9:30.

calisthenics (ups) 7 [3]

7 pull ups while at Burke Lake. Had planned to do the normal situps, pushups, and back extensions and add these in. Either later today or tomorrow. No floor space at home to do them since I have stuff all over while packing and I keep forgetting while at the new house. So these will have to stand alone as a 7 second workout.

Note

Falls Church Memorial Day parade.

walk 20:00 [1] 1.3 mi (15:23 / mi)
shoes: Walmart - white

Walk from parking to staging area of parade. Basically the parade route backward plus the extra from the parking.

Square dancing (parade) 25:30 [1] 1.0 mi (25:30 / mi)
shoes: Walmart - white

Falls Church Memorial Day Parade. A lot of walking & standing with occasional bouts of dancing. Entered at 1/2 time. Actual parade took 51 minutes from when we started until we finished. Parade started at 2pm but we did not move until 2:50.

Square dancing (rounds) 30:00 [1]
shoes: Blair - Botany 500

At Rounds by George. 7:30-9:30pm.

other (moving) 7:00 [2]

Another load of stuff to the new house. Including a trip to my mothers house to get some boxes and borrow her lawn mower.

other (mow lawn) 1:15:00 [2]

Cut the grass at the new house (front yard only). Used my mothers manual mower so some actual work was involved. Went over entire yard twice with 90 degree change of direction since mower tends to miss some blades. I think manual mowers need a new design so I can keep the blades moving when the pushing stops and faster when I am pushing. Some kind of hand crank would be nice.

Note

Since I skipped the Team Trials to stay home and mostly pack, I tried to concentrate on doing moving related things and not go over to Burke Lake for a quick run and few holes of disc golf. Still managed to get some golf related activity. I was in Walmart picking up some more plastic totes for my stuff and I saw some Frisbee brand golf discs. I have only used Inova discs and had never even seen any made by Frisbee. Could not resist, so now I have a new set of 5. Will have to get over to Burke Lake next week and try them out.
