PVTC Hour Walk at TC Williams HS 9am.
This is a postal competition with results mailed in and merged with similar races around the country. We only have one scheduled this year; when we have usually had 2 or 3 so there is a chance to improve. I had done a small amount of racewalk training in the last few weeks. Not enough to get much faster but enough to get me through the full hour with reasonable form.
Small field and the one person who might have pushed me did not do the hour walk, but instead did a 5k to help pace a women who was trying to make a qualifying time for Penn Relays. The 5k started on the other side of the track and his 5k time was about the same as mine so he was on the other side of the track the whole time. The women did pass me, but only on her last lap as she was kicking home.
As to the hour walk. I led from start to finish and lapped everyone at least once. Still not much to brag about as it was my worst distance in the last 10 years.

A mile of warm down with Iolanthe after the race. We we killing time while waiting until the yarn store we had seen on the way to the race opened. Not timed so I just made up a time. Pretty slow since it was at Io's leisurely walking pace
