Note

Relay day, didn't have a team cause we were unorganised and didnt enter before closing date then found out apparently it would have been £60 to enter on the day..

Instead went up to the waiting pen with rhodri and watched everything from there :) really made me want to run!

So quite a disappointing weekend really..felt like i had to slow down so much to read the map and wasn't flowing at all. Needed soo much more practice at orienteering over the winter and was a bit stupid to think i would be able to just come back and everything would be ok. Still enjoyed the weekend and clearly have an awful lot to work on.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Orienteering race (JK Long) 1:05:31 [5] 7.7 km (8:31 / km) +215m 7:28 / km

Got a bit confused on the first leg, didn't go far enough then took the wrong path, righted it fairly quickly, didn't look right though to me so think i found it by default..no2 used the metal pole thing, bit of a blip no5 by going wrong direction, no6 changed my plan half way so got confused about which hill i was on and stood around for a while, then thought i was at 7 so took a bearing to 8..realised i hadn't got 7 yet and was like foooooool..quite happy with the long leg to 13 but hesitated loads nerer the circle and took a very zigzag route towards the end, took the longer route to 16 cause it should have been easier, but missed the path so ended up taking much longer, rest was ok though.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Ran up to the start, few drills but generally stayed quite calm and felt quite good.

Orienteering race (JK Middle) 42:42 [4] 4.4 km (9:42 / km) +115m 8:35 / km

Started really well, then no6 missed the clearing and was running around in the wrong one, left no6 the right way but then checked my map and thought id done a 180, soo turned round and ran back the other way 150m to find another control on a knoll too..got very confused and eventually realised i was right first time..stupid route to no8 and got stuck in some rubbish, wierd direction to no9 not sure how i managed it..rest not too bad, blip on no19.

Event: JK 2010

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Orienteering (JK Sprint) 18:09 [5] 2.8 km (6:29 / km) +40m 6:03 / km

Best run of the weekend, tend to rush sprints so made sure i had a plan for every leg and stuck to it. First bit felt like xc but felt like i was running ok, then slowed down lots in the urban bit, couldn't read the map fast enough, but no mistakes so was pleased with it.
