Note

Entered the Dragon's Back race, something I've always wanted to do but never thought I could. I decided I just needed to have a go and now seemed as good a time as any! I have a bit of a plan for training which I think will focus mostly on getting some long days/consecutive days up the hills and some more strengthening work as well as plenty of prep work. I think the tricky bit will be making sure I can get the volume in whilst not breaking myself. I suspect my Mon-Fri won't change too much (maybe try to be a bit more specific) but will aim to get some good training in over weekends. Excited about the challenge but a bit nervous too!

Yorkshire 3 peaks race

Just so happy :) 21 mins faster than 3 years ago :D probably started a bit fast, but reigned it in a bit on the way up Pen y Ghent so felt good at the top. The run to Ribblehead is just a bit mad so tried to keep a nice steady pace but it's so runnable that I probably also ran a bit hard. Hip deep in a bog on the start of the climb up Whernside, then hands on knees job up the top but made it! Tried to save my quads a bit on the descent but still achy going up Inglebrough and struggling a bit towards the top. Such a long slog down, the limestone pavement was absolutely sapping and crashed down onto my knees at one point. Eventually saw the marquees and finish with about 2km to go and gave it everything :) delighted running into the finish and couldn't stop smiling :)

Really pleased, had hoped 3.45 and top 10 so this was just great :) certainly room for improvement up steep climbs as I was overtaken by other ladies on all three but running well on descents and flatter bits.

Just such a fantastic event :) support, marshalls, live music and food after just makes for a really fun day out :)

Not a good week for a variety of reasons and absolutely crashed yesterday evening, very very glad it's over! So happy to be going away for the weekend although I suspect I will either feel amazing tomorrow having barely ran all week or crash and burn cause I would just like to sleep!
