Last Day.
Along the coast to Mogan and then up the beautiful climb to Tauropass.
It started to rain a bit but it was ok whilst climbing (most amused by 2 Germans heading down the hill shouting "its raining, its raining !" - very Monty Python - "run away !"). At the top we decided the rain wasn't so bad and we would continue to Ayacata as planned. The rain then got heavy and cold. Even though we were climbing it still wasn't warm. No stop at Ayacata, just get on with it, hoping it would be dry beyond Cruz Grande. It was really cold across the traverse and heading down from Cruz Grande. Then Jesse hit the deck so we shivered a bit more. Once that was sorted we continued the descent. I was really struggling with my arms and shoulders cramping from the cold.
Once on the descent to Fataga things dried out and there was sunshine, not enough to warm me up though. Jesse was on the front and being a bit cautious following his fall. This meant more breaking than strictly necessary, but I didn't want to dive bomb past him either. In the end it was all a bit too much and my front wheel overheated and flatted as I rounded a corned tight and had to adjust my line for a car coming up wide. A moment of wobble but I had it under control quickly and was soon sitting by the road shivering like crazy trying to change the tube. Finally warmed up on the climb out of the valley and enjoyed the last descent into Maspalomas.
