Another shocking effort.
set out feeling flat but hoping to perk up once warmed up. It never got that far, I had nothing at all and could tell it would not improve by sticking at it. Literally never got out of 1st gear

Well at least I got into 2nd gear.
But this was a shocker too really - at least I kept going and never really thought about abandoning - nothing in the tank.
Stopped to check if my heart rate really was as low as the watch was saying and it was - with a few long gaps between beats ??

After being pleased and surprised at how really good sessions on Tuesday, Thursday the weekend has been the other end of the scale.
Is it just the February Blues ? Am I trying to do too much ? Am I not eating right ?

Felt rubbish physically. Laura was good

O' around Calledar Park
First a line, which was awful because there were brambles everywhere and I still had nothing in my legs so was slow choping and changing direction to get round patches of crap, with zero energy or acceleration.
The some compass / control pick, which was a bit better in the nicer woods to the west
Overall ok technically - followed the line nicely and hit the other controls, but physically dreadful
In between the O' I was shouting people on in the cross country

upped the effort level to Threshold (straying into VO2max)
slowed through the set after a somewhat bouncy start but still satisfyingly quicker at the higher effort
upped the reps to 8 since they are going by faster these days
7 at Threshold and dialed the last one back a bit to Sub.

5 x 600m with 2:15 recovery - walk jog walk.
2:13, 2:12, 2:12, 2:13, 2:13
Happy with the pace 2:15 was target - great consistency
Effort was good, getting hard to maintain by the end.
Feeling improvements and adding distance gradualy
