8 AM

cycling (commute) 25:00 [1] 7.8 km (18.7 kph)
shoes: Giant Hybrid

Woke up at 6.15 to go swimming and pottered about the house doing Important and Necessary jobs until 8am. Whoops. Now running late and still wearing bathers, a jacket and ugg boots.

Got changed and headed out to the garage to jump on the roadie. Whoops. It's still decorating a friend's living room.

Pump up the tires on the hybrid to hard-enough for the road and jump on. Whoops. Still wearing SPD shoes.

Decide I don't have the time or patience to run back upstairs and change out of the SPD shoes. Whoops. It is hard to ride a flat-pedal bike in SPD shoes.

Perhaps this afternoon will be a bit more sensible.

5 PM

cycling (commute) 31:00 [1] 10.0 km (19.4 kph)
shoes: Giant Hybrid

Another sketchy ride with inappropriate shoes/pedal combination.

Event: Spice Brook

9 AM

O (Spice Brook H4) 1:19:06 intensity: (5:03 @1) + (17:44 @2) + (34:55 @3) + (21:24 @4) 6.71 km (11:47 / km) +223m 10:07 / km
ahr:148 max:176 shoes: Asics Trabuco 11 WR

Rolled ankle twice before I reached the start. Went over on it another couple of times over the course of the day. Ankle is fine, but the knee is feeling very tender on the outside edge and does not want to bend.

Massive error 1-2. Should have kept backing myself and held on to the belief that I would hit that recognisable rocky ground if I had overshot. But instead wandered around helplessly halfway there.

Held good contact with the map after that, but took the 'safe' option every time. Didn't execute the last control particularly well, but mostly due to being tired and not wanting to go up the hill. Tired by the end.

Really enjoyed the map and the course, but did an extra 2km! Unsure if I should put this up on AP at all!
8 PM

Physio (hips/knees/shoulder) 45:00 [1]
shoes: Barefoot

Stretch, strengthen, roller.

Shoulder/neck area very tight and sore today.

9 AM

cycling (MTB) 30:00 [3] 4.0 km (8.0 kph)
shoes: Giant Hybrid

MTB training session with Danger.

Really useful basics and lots of fun - thanks Danger!

Came home and instead of being a good and dutiful daughter with the chopping of vegies and such, rode up and down the driveway learning to bunny hop while relying on the sound proofing of the house to hide my arrival.

On the upside, I can bunny hop!
8 PM

Physio (hips/knees/shoulders) 35:00 [1]
shoes: Barefoot

Stretch, strengthen.

Half-hearted on the squats, Kris' exercise ball is much too big for the scissor leg-lift thingos but a nice size for bridging.

7 AM

Swimming (Breathing) 40:00 [3] 1.3 km (30:46 / km)

200 x breast stroke
3x Sink-Downs
2 x 100m Free (Breathe-Bubble-Bubble-Breathe)
3x Sink-Downs
200m Pull (Bubble-Bubble-Stretch)
100m x Breathing 3/2/3/2
100m x ↑Breathing left side only ↓Breathing right side only
100m x sneaky breathing
100m x head down
2x 20 seconds Ankle Stretches
4x Torpedo Push offs and Swim Back Toes-Tapping
200m Pull ↑Toes Pointed Behind ↓Toes Pointing To Bottom
100m x free (try to be smooth)

Hated the Torpedo push-offs and was tired through the shoulders and really hated pointing my toes down while using the buoy.

Much happier with this effort. Quite a few bits of time where I actually enjoyed myself.
8 AM

cycling (commute) 17:50 [3] 7.8 km (26.2 kph)

Felt a bit bouncy this morning.

5 PM

cycling (commute) 24:00 [3] 9.0 km (22.5 kph)
shoes: Defy

Work to West Perth in preparation of hitting a pub to watch the Dockers get thrashed.

Note
(rest day)

Perhaps I should note the very tired vibes I've got happening and have a rest day.

I want there to be some go in my legs on Saturday when Danger teaches me MTB stuff.
7 AM

Physio (shoulders) 5:00 [0]
shoes: Barefoot

Stretch.

This is really helping mobility, but the stupid nerve is very stupid.

*drops spoon* *drops handbag* *drops laundry hamper* *incessant, crazy-making muscle twitch near the elbow*

8 AM

cycling (commute) 21:00 [1] 7.8 km (22.3 kph)
slept:6.5

Still got nothing in the legs, but happy enough to keep chugging away as long as I didn't want to push. Headwind along GFF substantial.
5 PM

cycling (commute) 36:00 [3] 14.0 km (23.3 kph)
shoes: Defy

BREEZE.
6 PM

Swimming (flail) 25:00 [2] 1.0 km (25:00 / km)

200 x breast stroke
100 x backstroke (wandering across the lane)
500 x free (flippers)
200 x free (drowning)
9 PM

Physio (hips/knees/shoulders) 30:00 [1]

Tired and did about half of the exercises and went easy and short on the stretching.

7 AM

Physio (shoulders) 5:00 [0]
slept:7.5 shoes: Barefoot

Logging the physio to keep me honest about whether or not I'm doing it.

Slept all the way through last night for the first time in a week. Feel much strongerer and betterer this morning.
8 AM

cycling (commute) 18:30 [3] 7.8 km (25.3 kph)
shoes: Defy

Time a complete guess but felt pretty good this morning, so I think this is about right. Spent a good five minutes relocating a lost international student near Burswood Station and another couple of minutes discussing route choice through the city with a lady at the junction of the Midland and GFF bike paths.

There really are a lot of people out at the moment. I hope they're all prepared for this afternoon's rain.
5 PM

cycling (commute) 1:04:04 [1] 22.01 km (20.6 kph) +46m
shoes: Defy

Slogged into the wind on the way to massage and enjoyed it blowing me home afterwards.

This was definitely a case of cycling instead, as I would normally drive this loop.
