I ran home from my exam this morning. The exam was a learn on the go exam for me more than it should have been but I think I did fairly well in the end. The run home was nice. The upper portion of my right hamstring was a bit sore but not in a painful way if that makes any sense. My ankles, especially my left, were sore again as well. I did little bits of running on the ball of my foot but not nearly as much as yesterday.

NOTE: the straight line distance is 7.0 km. I'm amazed at how little distance there is between my route and the same line.

Short run and evening study break. At the start my hip was bugging me and while it decreased in severity 5 or 10 minutes in it didn't stop completely. At about 12 minutes I noticed the far too regular pain in my left ankle. I switched to running completely on the ball of my feet for the rest of the run and the ankle pain disappeared completely - a very pleasing result. I'm going to try running this way much more often now and see how that affects my ankles.

As for the hip pain.. well Brian thinks it's one and the same as my hamstring issue. He says they're all (including my ankles apparently but I think that's taking his otherwise good theory too far) because of a systemic issue with my sciatic nerve. I need to do lots of hip and lumbar stretching which only makes sense.

Curse my mangled body!
