Oof it's been a pretty high volume week with a ton of intensity! I wasn't sure how I would fair with this last session but once we got into the track it was great. The warm up and 2 km threshold run were pretty rough and my legs felt quite beat up along with the fact that my ankles were very sore - grr. But once we got onto the track things felt quite good. The sessions started with a 2k warm up loop then a 2k threshold run, almost 2k more running then a warmup lap around the track before 10x200m and then 2k cool down with Robbie and Eric. 12 minutes of stretching before the 200ms and then more stretching at the end.

Good long interval session today and it generally felt pretty good. I pushed harder than I should have though as my heart rate shows. Oops - I got caught up in being able to run fine again and went out chasing Robbie too fast and then kept up that effort for the rest of the session.

About midway though my right foot started hurting a bit. It was quite sore by the end... My theory is that the large amount of stretching my hip that I've been doing has led my right foot strike to change significantly which is causing the pain I was feeling.

I'm hoping this is something that through continued stretching and use will gradually disappear but I definitely need to be careful with it.

Came home from training and watched the game and then a few other things to test the resolution of our new tv screen :) before I knew it I really wanted to get to bed so just spent 5 min doing my hip stretches.
