OOC AGM this evening.

Randy led a very good meeting today - on topic and efficient but with some great discussion. Here's a summary:
President's report - We had a great number of events capped off by an amazing COCs and excellent results by a lot of club members at a lot of meets.
Budget - The 2011 budget calls for a deficit this year with lots of spending on mapping and various programs. I put forward my proposal for two developmental programs (a school orienteering program and a permanent course program) which was well received. We've added $2,500 to the budget towards development and I'm looking forward to getting the chance to work on them come graduation in April!
Nothing much to be said about membership other than that we've slightly increased membership fees for inflation and increasing meet levies from the COF.
We had a total of 27 events this year and 2407 starts - an easy record high for us!
Some new safety regulation documents were put together for use at B-meets for the coming year. Hopefully we won't need to use them too often...
Mapping - one of the big focuses of the next couple of years will be on heavy updating of our Gatineau Park maps thanks to the LiDAR data we've bought from the NCC. They should be amazing when they're done :D
Training - This was a big one for us this year. In the spring we opened up Tuesday Night Trainings for everyone in the club and they were a huge success with an average of 25 people out each week. Then in the fall Francis Kawam stepped forward to give those interested proper running coaching and has been leading running sessions every Wednesday since the end of Sept. Since November we've been holding long club runs every Sunday which have also been popular. Will our results in 2011 show this fact?

After the AGM there was a pot luck dinner that a lot of people showed up to and some good presentations. I opened with a presentation on WUOC, then Robbie talked about the orienteering biathlon at O-Ringen. Bill spoke about LiDAR mapping and mapping on tablet computers before Eric finished off with the Whistler Village Sprint.
All around it was a good meeting and a fun evening.

Two laps of the forest in the cold. I bundled up well though and it wasn't a big deal though the snow made for tough running at times.

50 km goal this week. I want to put in more shorter runs rather than a few long ones to get the distance in this time around.

Nice day for skiing! My mom picked me up at Carleton at 3:00 and we went up to P8 for a loop on the parkway mostly. I was ever so slightly underdressed though.

Not a good run today. I was tired and wary of some sore spots. I felt quite slow and am actually a little surprised at the speed we were going. The inside of my shins were a bit sore as was my right hamstring again. Darn it all Brian was right... I haven't stretched since Saturday and it shows :S

Note

I haven't done any stretching since I stopped logging it on Saturday... oops. New solution - put the time in notes.
