...followed by some route to Christmas. Got both of today's legs wrong. Put too much stock in the initial write-up which described the terrain as a somewhat thick and slow and made it seem like you should avoid the ravines at all cost. So much for that!

Then another bonus (day 2) from 2010.

Today's Route to Christmas where I had little trouble picking out the winning route (though I chose right around the first hill and not over) and the Bonus Days 6-3 from 2010. Picked out some different route amongst those so hard to say how they compared. Got the Bonus Day 3 one wrong - I have trouble picturing how different options compare in classic continental terrain probably simply due to how little experience I have running in that terrain.

Swimming 37:24 [1]

Roughly 20 minutes of breast stroke then a bunch of back stroke before trying something new: front crawl! Yikes, my crawl form shows signs of my never doing front crawl.... This will take some work if want to progress past the stage of bouncing from the rope on one side of the lane to literally swimming into the wall at the feet of the lifeguard who just looks down at me and smiles...

Did my squats and step ups then 6.30 balancing on an upside down bosu ball while playing go on my phone then played around for a bit on an exercise ball.

Route to Christmas Day 11. Picked out the 'right' route except that I cut through the woods in a couple of spots. I think the second cut was probably a good one but not the first one at night (I was choosing based on doing it at night but I have so little experience at night that I'm not familiar with what is and isn't worth it).

Found the good bikes at the gym. Much nicer spinning today. Helps that I had a good Behind Sports podcast to listen to.

Today's route to Christmas. Saw the three routes today quite quickly but guessed the slowest of them would be fastest. Hard to say if I would have chosen different if I had actually been in the terrain and know how fast the woods were. On the positive side if Leonid Novikov took the route I chose than I'm in good company.

The bulk of this evenings effort consisted of 4:15 plank alternating front, some leg raises then my pt exercises and box jumps followed around by playing a bit with one of those core workout rollers and jumping around on bosu balls.

Hopped on the spin bike at the gym. Terrible seat and angle to the pedals and bars - I think there are some better ones to try next time.

Did my squats, squat walks and step ups that my physio assigned weeks ago.

Deep water running 6:08 [1]

Started a pool running session but the water was bothering my achilles so called it off.
