Snowboarding 4:00:00 [1]

Went to the ski area above Meiringen. It was SPECTACULAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I sucked bad in the morning because I'm STILL jetlagging and got next to no sleep last night. After a 30 minute nap after lunch I kicked some serious ass in the afternoon... Good stuff!

Snowboarding 3:00:00 [1]

My first time snowboarding in Switzerland in my adult life!!! Urs and I went to Lenk, which is the smallest and furthest out portion of a HUGE ski resort system. We only went for half the day and it was only about an hours drive so it worked. The snow is wicked hard though, well compared to the fluff we have back home, and especially compared to the pow they have in Utah!! It was still nice and we're going again tomorrow but to a different resort.

Trail Running 1:20:49 [2] 8.48 mi (9:32 / mi)

Ran with my sister and her boyfriend Marc along the Aare river which flows through Bern. Our mom came along for a bit too but then we youngins were sent off on our own. It's soooo good to see her again and we talked the whole way. We obviously weren't working hard, and she'd just gotten healthy again after being sick for more than a month. She's now starting to get her endurance back. After we celebrated Christmas with our Uncle and his daughter, our mom and her boyfriend and all the rest of us. Wonderful.

Backcountry Snowboarding (Snowboarding!!) 45:00 [1]

Mike and I boarded down the super steep section near the Hut. It was wierd to find my balance with a huge pack on and poles in my hands. Once I got it figured out though I was totally able to link turns, weave and duck my way through the trees and even, inadvertently, dropped off a rock. Granted it was only about ten feet tall, but still, I dropped it!!!! :-) Mike was routinely swearing at me for being so good, which made me totally smile, but I gently reminded him that I´d been doing this for more than ten years now, and that was his first time. He did well considering.

Backcountry Snowboarding (Touring) 2:45:00 [1]

Hiking back down and out to the cars. We stopped in Glenwood at a brewery for copious amounts of food and beer. It was a good trip! No, scratch that, it was an AMAZING trip. We then drove home in a raging snowstorm.

Backcountry Snowboarding (Touring) 1:30:00 [1]

We went and screwed around the Hut. we created a race track that was about 200 meters long and raced each other around it. I beat Chris who is out shape, but Sean, of course, totally beat me. Then we dumped a huge load of snow on a tree onto Mike, while Sean was attacking Chris against a pillowy snow covered rock. Don't ask, even I don't know. Silly boys...!
