Let us never speak of this again. I made 5 x 7-10 min mistakes on this course - pretty much nearly an hour of mistakes. Lots of granite, vague hillside, poor focus, lack of fitness, lots of stuff on the ground to climb over, all added up to a bit of an epic.

Worst mistake was number 6 (10 minute error) where I was within the control circle, knew where I was exactly, took a bearing towards the control but just didn't think the feature looked correct. The feature and control were obscured under a dead fallen tree, but why I didn't go up and look under the tree I don't know. Just tired I guess. Of course, the control was on that feature that was mysteriously in the right place, but just didn't look right. Kicked myself for that one!

Still, I finished. Quite a few people didn't!
