Quick jog around Beechworth with Sus and Lauren before the looong drive back to Adelaide. Beautiful cool morning.

30 minutes to the first control - disaster! Didn't do too badly after that, but called it quits at the spectator control as I had a late start and after 1 hour on course at that point, I didn't think I could finish the final loops before course closure.

Basically had no idea how to navigate in the amazingly complex map detail and couldn't match map to ground in any meaningful way until it was too late to matter.

Once again, Amber had a fantastic run! Yay Rambo! Sus is amazing to watch on the GPS trac trac - a great example of how to carefully navigate in complex terrain. Congrats to Sus as new Aus Middle Distance champ!

It was raining - a lot. I had heaps of trouble on the first control (8.5mins) and lost confidence. I just didn't feel like I could orienteer! I even did a 180 from a control and ran off in the wrong direction for a couple of 100m before realising - hang on, I should be going DOWN hill... Plus I got scared of slipping on the wet rocks and did too much walking.

Ah well. Still came 3rd out of 10 or so, behind someone who only beat me by a minute or so.

Amber had an awsome run to win in 47 minutes!

Short run with Simon and Tyson - reverse lower loop with a triple backflip.

Jog to work from the eggabout and after work to North Adelaide.

Run (North Adelaide) 37:00 [3]

Run with the O crew from the Uni loop up to the suspension bridge and further on to the playground on the hill. Tyson made me go fast on a spinny thing and I was just a little bit scared I was going to fly off (memories of a certain mechanical bull ride in Hungary came flooding back). Then back via the Uni bridge to make that bounce too. Fun times.
