Run (Hawthorndene) 39:00 [3]

Easy Monday run with the crew, plus a friend from mums group who happened to be walking past before we started and decided to tag along for the first bit over the hill. Did a bit extra with Jenny at the end - felt pretty good, but glad not to run any further.

Orienteering race (Sprint Champs - Woodhouse) 30:35 [3] *** 3.1 km (9:52 / km) +72m 8:50 / km
spiked:18/22c

Sprint champs at Woodhouse. This was kinda an urban bush sprint in a scout camp. When I removed the previous description from my control description holder I realised that the last time I orienteered needing a control description, compass and SI stick was at Margaret River Sprint the SW after Nationals 5 months ago. Hmmmm....

Still, I really enjoyed this! I ran the whole way, except for a really steep bit up challenge hill and mostly felt confident with my navigation. I had a bit of brain fade for controls 13 and 14 after running hard to catch Shannon and passing her to 12, I completely miffed the next two and was just behind her again at 15. I saw her taking the northern route choice to 16 and decided to run hard and take the southern route across the paddock and along the road. I must've put at least a minute between us here as although I then couldn't find the boulder in the green at 17 for some reason (brain fade after running hard again, I suspect), although I found the cliffs ok, and also was a bit hesitant to 21 which was hidden behind a tree, I still finished a minute or two before her.

Thoroughly enjoyed this and am now looking forward to some proper bush orienteering again soon. Hopefully I get some chance to practice before Easter!

Pram run (Belair) 53:00 [3]

Pram run with Zara at a rather slow pace, quite leisurely, but it still felt bloody tough to me! We left a bit late cos the pram passenger slept in and it was already starting to warm up, bit at least it was overcast which made it bearable. We went from my place into the park through the caravan park and did an anticlockwise lap of the lorikeet loop walk, then along the creek to Rosella Ave and back up the hill that way. My legs were feeling pretty tired by Rosella, so Zara kindly took the pram and I took Bear who pulled me up the hill! I stopped running when Zara left me at Rankeys and went for a walk because Paddy, who'd kindly slept for much of the run, woke up and went back to sleep again.

Pram walk (Hawthorndene) 40:00 [2]

Easy walk around the burb as a cool down after my run - well as easy as it can be pushing a pram in a very hilly area! Went to the fruit and veg shop towards the end of the walk and loaded up with several kg of stuff which made the last hill back up Suffolk seem super tough. I kept telling Paddy "we're nearly at the top of the hill - nearly home", but I think it was more for my benefit. :D

Pram walk (Belair) 2:15:00 [2]

Epic pram walk, and Paddy slept for most of it! From home to Belair golf course car park to meet Andrea and Clara (and a lap of the nearby trails while waiting as I was early), then a lap of the lorikeet loop walk (up the creek from the visitor centre to Gov House and back through the playground and along the trail), then along the creek through Glenalta and Hawthorndene to my folks place in Blackwood for lunch. Then home again up Batley and Talarook. Pretty warm on the way home after lunch, but it was lovely in the morning.

Pram walk (Hawthorndene) 1:10:00 [2]

Usual loop with Paddy. Another nice late afternoon. Spotted Zed driving past while waiting to cross the road by the roundabout at Apex Park - she looked very intent on the road and didn't notice me - as it should be! No knee pain today and was thinking of going for a run but I was a bit too late back to fit it in. Probably just as well because I'm exhausted today! Took Paddy to the new aquatic centre at Marion this morning for Aqua Play and it's very impressive there. I think we'll be spending some time there as he grows up!

Pram walk (Hawthorndene) 1:40:00 [2]

Usual loop with a bit extra because Patrick was still sleeping. Such a beautiful day for a walk! Saw 8 koalas, plus the one that was hanging out in a tree in our front yard all day.
